Passes in London
Mrs. Joseph White, 68, R.R. 1,
Crediton, died Friday in St. Jos-
eph's Hospital from injuries receiv-
ed in an accident in London. While
crossing Oxford Street Mrs. White
was in collision with a truck. She
was unconscious since admittance.
Mrs. White was ,born In Leaming-
ton, and spent some years in Lon-
don before taking up residence in
the Crediton area three years ago -

The Girls' Dance Club are hold-
ing a dance in the Town Hall, Hen-
sall, Thursday, December 4. Lionel
Thornton and his Casa Royal Orch-
estra will furnish the music for the
dance. Advance tickets may be pur-
chased from Mrs. Bertha Moir or
Miss Mary Goodwin.
Service For Korean Casualty
Under the auspices of Ilderton
(Branch No. 531 Canadian Legion,
a memorial service was held last
Sunday for L/Cpl. Jamca R. Allan,
a member of the 1t.0-R,'s, who vas
killed in Korea last month. Three
buglers from the Hensall Legion
Branch, Fred Beer, Ed. Little and
Alf. Clark, sounded the Last Post
and Reveille.

Plan Christmas Party
Mrs. W. B. Cross presided for the
November meeting of the Women's
Missionary Society in Hensall Unit-
ed Church last week. Mrs. R. J. Pat-
erson was convener of the meeting
and Mrs. W. Stephenson conducted
the devotional period, with prayer
offered by Mrs. Jarvis Horton. '
Plans were discussed for the
packing of a bale, to be forwarded
to headquarters in Toronto for Eur-
opean relief, Members were asked
to leave good used or new clothing
at the church or with Mrs. George
Armstrong. In charge of this pro-
ject are Mrs. N. E. Cook, Mrs. R.
J, Paterson, Mrs. William Forrest
and Mrs. A. Alexander.
Mrs. George Armstrong and Mrs.
N. E. Cook were appointed as a
nominating committee to bring In
the slate of officers at the Dec: m
ber meeting. A Christmas party
will be featured at the Decen ber
meeting, with Miss K. Scott, and
Mrs. G. Hess, program and lunch
conveners.

presented a comprehenaive report
on many important facts presented
from each of the different speak-
ers at the meeting.

tures of homes and schools, Mrs.
George Hess sang a solo, "An Eve-
ning Prayer," with 'Mrs. Sherritt

trict High School teacher, address-
ed members of Hurol;dale Women's
Institute recently on agriculture
and Canadian industries. Mr. D:x
on illustrated his talk with pictures
or conservation and reforestation.
Mrs.• J. Kirkland introduced Mr,
Dixon, The meeting was held at
the home of Mrs. Garnet Hicks.
Members answered the 'roll call
with, "This idea ,.saved money."
Mrs. A. W. Morgan presented as
her motto, "When you feel like
complaining, take a good look at
your blessings."
Mrs. L. Ballantyne reviewed cur-
rent events and 'Mrs, William Ker -
nick read a brief report of the area
convention at London. Musical
numbers were given by Garnet,
Marilyn and Catherine Hicks, Mrs.
W. Slllery and. Mrs. Oscar Tuckey.

Mrs. Kenneth Johns, Usborne,
was elected president of the newly.
formed South Huron Hospital Aux-
iliary at an organizatidh meeting
in James St. United Church, Exe-
ter. The group was addressed by
Mrs: H. G. Horning, Woodstock,
newly -appointed provincial presi-
dent of the Hospital Women's Aux-
iliaries, who spoke on the ithpor-
tance of an auxiliary and the as-
sistance it can render to the hos-
pital board.
Mrs, P. M. Dewar, Ingersoll, past
president of Ingersoll Hospital Aux-
iliary, spoke. First vice-president
.elected was Emery Desjardine,' pf
Grand Bend; second vice-president,
Mrs. Gerald Zwieker, Grand Bend;
third vice-president, Mrs. Letta
Taylor, Dashwood; recording secre-
tary, Mrs, C. S. MeiNaughton; as-
sistant, Mrs. Hubert Jones; treas-
urer, 'Mrs. Gordon, Koch; assistant,
Mrs. 'Norman Waiver. Two dele-
gates will :be .appointed from each
community in the district to meet
with the executive'.

Hensall Couple Return
After Sven -Week Trip
Mr. and Mrs. Albert G. Alexan-
der returned home last week after
a seven -week motor trip to the
West, where they visited relatives
at Marquis, Sask., and Courtwl•ight,
Man. They also visited with a
great-uncle, Robert Moir, who is 98
years old, of Crystal City, Man, Mr.
Moir is a former Hensall resident.
Heis enjoying good health and
was pleased to hear about old Hen-
sall friends. Mr. and Mrs. Alexan-
der also visited with Mr. Moir's
sister, Mrs. C. 'McGill, Neelin, Man.
They reported seeing fine crops of
wheat and 'barley, beat° in years,
,with good harvest weather.
