RED CROSS NOTES

faith. , The Earl of Seaforth, the
colonel of the regiment, patched
things up.
Later there was a tremendous
furor in the reign 'of George 1V
when the regiment was stationed
in the South of England. This time,
the British government took away
the regiment's right to wear the kilt
because it was offensive to the
English. A compromise was reach-
ed by clothing the warriors in
trews and in 1881 their right to the
kilt was restored.
These are some of the things'
which lie behind the name Seaforth
and, as any one can plainly see,
they have nothing to do with shav-
ing lotion.
However, I suppose that in these
days one should consider it an hon-
or to have a 'commercial enterprise
Lake over a great name. One of the
most exclusive restaurants in To-
ronto is called "Winston's" after
Prime Minister Churchill. 'In fact,
everything from hotels to cigars
are : named • for kings and presi-
dents.
Yeti can be'`sure''that before a
commercial' man takes' over a name
for his ,product it _'mtist be an hon-
orable,- one. As Far- as Seaforth
goes there is no question about its
tradition and record.
The real test is to live up tq
the greatness of the past.
