LATE ROBERT FERGUSON
Mrs. Ross McGregor was bereav-
ed last Saturday when her. father,
Robert H. Ferguson, of Howick
Township, passed away at her
home in 'Hullett.
Mr. Ferguson was born in How -
ick Township and lived there all
his life, where he was well known
and high respected. His wife was
the former Nellie Bradwell, who
passed away in April of this year.
Surviving are two daughters, Miss
Marion Ferguson, at home, and
Mrs. Ross McGregor, Hullett, and
one son, John Ferguson, at home.
The funeral was held Tuesday,
October 28, at 2 p.m. from his late
residence, 12th concession, Howick,
with Rev. J. W. A. Stinson of
Northside United Church, Seaforth,
conducting the service. The pall-
bearers were former neighbors of
the deceased. Interment was in
Clifford cemetery.

Dublin, on Thursday evening, Oct.
23. The president, (Mrs. Ed. Staple-
ton, was in charge.
Rev. ,Father Ffoulkes opened the
meeting with prayer, and the stu-
dents of the school provided a
short program.
Mrs. Stapleton delivered a short
talk on the convention held in
Windsor. (Mrs. Frank Evans was
the lucky winner of a teapot, donat-
ed by Mrs. Stapleton. Lunch was
served by the committee in charge.

\ Meet Last Friday
The Seaforth Sewing Sisters met
at the home of Mrs. Erlin Whit-
more last Friday with 14 girls and
six new members present.
After the meeting opened with a
sing -song, :Ruth Anne Crozier gave
a talk on "Posture." Joyce Wilson
demonstrated "How to prepare the
Material," and Betty Goudie dem-
onstrated • the making of "Tailor
Tacs."
The next meeting will be held at
the home of Joyce Wilson, Novem-
ber 14. A meeting of all girls clubs
is to be held in Seaforth Collegi-
ate November 3, with Miss Stecele
present.

Have October Meeting
In First Church Here
.The October meeting of .the Bar-
bara Kirkman Auxiliary of First
Presbyterian Church • was held
Tuesday evening with the presi-
dent, Mrs, J. ,B. Russell, opening
the meeting and conducting the
business. Mrs. Ed. Andrews, con-
vener of the 'Muriel Judd group,
later occupied the chair. "
Mrs. Orland Johnston read the
Scripture lesson and Mrs. Keith
Sharp gave a prayer. The topic for
the evening was taken by Mrs. Jas.
F. Scott, who discussed the point
of Bible study for members of the
auxiliary. She a4eo mentioned a
few highlights of the talk given at
the 75th anniversary of the senior
society that •afternoon by 'Miss
Ruby Walker, Toronto, regional
secretary for the W;M.S.
The offering was taken by Mrs.
J. J. (Sclater and Mrs. Sharp. Carol
Glew and' ",Betty :Simpson sang
"Whispering Hope,", accompanied'
by Mrs. M. R. Rennie. Mrs, Elmer
Rivers read a short story of the
life of Margaret Webster, a noted
missionary of the Presbyterian
Church.

Everyone is anxiously awaiting
Hallowe'en, and the pupils of Sea -
forth Public School are no excep-
tion. Pupils in art class are mak-
ing masks inpreparation for Hal-
lowe'en.
The boys have formed a soccer
team and played three games.•First
game was played October 15
against Exeter, who won 3-0. The
second game was played October
16 against Blyth, who alsrr won 3-1.
The secoed game with Blyth was
played October 23. This was a tie
game, 010.
