Rowland - Gaunt—A profusion of

med with seed pearls. The bride's

gays similar to the maid of honor.

ban, and the ushers were Frank

Local W.I. Hold
September Meet
Mra Alex Pepper was hostess for
the September meeting of the Sea -
forth W.I. on Wednesday, with a
good attendance of members a.nd
visitors. After the opening exer-
cises, the roll call was answered by
"a community activity you take
Part in."
During the business period the
minutes were read and adopted and
treasurer's report heard. Communi-
cations
ommunications included letters of thanks
for boxes. The previous :club lead-
ers, Mrs. 3. Hiilebrecht and Mrs.
L. Pryce, agreed to tai4 the fall
project, 'Tottons May .Be Smart,"
with the same assistants.
The members received an invi-
tation to exhibit at Exeter Fall
Fair in the following classes: an-
gel cake (united), African violet
plant, fancy tea apron, embroider-
ed colored pillow cases, hooked
rug. Plans were completes] for the
booth at Seaforth Fair. Mrs. G.
Papple and Mrs. A. Pepper were
appointed as delegates to London
Area Convention. It was decided
to extend invitations to" the "Sea -
forth Juniors, Kippen East and
Elimville Institutes to attend a so-
cial evening in October. The In-
stitute will again place a wreath
on Remembrance Day.
Mrs. Gordon Papple, community
activities convener, presided for
the program. Miss Ruth Keyes
played a pleasing piano solo. 'Mrs.
J . W. Thompson, the guest speak-
er, chose an article from Reader's
Digest, "Try Giving Yourself
Away." People have different
things to give, she said, Some have
time, energy, skill, ideas; others
have some special talent. All of
us can give away appreciation, in-
terest, encouragement. The giver
away should major in the items in
which he is "lazy" and fill in with
wise rest. Emerson was and
practical when he wrote; "The on-
ly .gift is a portion of thyself."
Later, Mrs. Ross .Gordon sang a
solo, "It Is No Secret." Mrs. R.
Dalrymple gave a demonstration
of paper flowers, including ice box
flowers, waxed flowers, chinille
types, as well as tips on general
arrangement.
Mrs. E. Cameron moved a vote of
thanks to the hostess and those
taking part in the program.
"I'm getting stronger."
"How do you know?"
"Because a few years ago I
couldn't carry three dollars' worth
of groceries, and now it is easy."
