Larry Joynt, Toronto, who has
been attending camp at Ipper-
wash, visited Sunday with his

Larry is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Laird -Joynt, Toronto, and return-
ed home with his parents Sunday.
Robert Davis, son of Mr. and
Mrs. C. W. Davis, is spending sev-
en weeks at camp at Ipperwash.
Mr. Earl Dick, who recently pur-
chased the residence of the late
Miss Annie Hood, has the hole dug
for the foundation and had the
trees cut down on the property.

Motorist Escapes Injury
A London man escaped injury
when his car swerved off the road,
roiled down an embankment . and
landed in five feet of water in the
Crediton River Sunday night. Roy
Smith, 31, 499 Central Ave., Lon-
don, managed to crawl from his
aketraar-ami Swim -to -shore af
ter the accident. He •said he had
been blinded by the lights of an
oncoming car while driving east on
the Crediton Road. He lost control
of the auto and it plunged down
the 19 -foot embankment. ' P.C. El-
mer Zimmerman, Exeter, said the
ear was wrecked,
Start New Chopping Mill
Excavation has started on a
000. 85x24 -foot chopping mill here
by George T. Mickle & Sons, Ben -
sail. It is a one -storey building
over the warehouse and showrbom,
two storeys ov'er the choppinginill,
and is being built in front of the
new grain elevators. The macbin-
ery will house a 24 -inch grinder,
driven by 100 horsepower, a grain
roller and grain mixer. A Ridge -
town construction firm has the con-
tract, and the cement work, which
started Wednesday, is in charge of
.Earl Dick, Cromarty. The building
is expected to be completed by the
middle of August. .

son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parker,
who lives east of Hensall, an em-
ployee of the Clipper Coach Trail-

Leg Stepping From Car
Stepping from his car at his
home last week, William M. Sproat,
Tuckersmith, fell and fractured 'hig,
left leg. Mr. Sproat was taken to
Scott Memorial Hospital here,
where the break was set. He was
expected to return home in a few
days.
