Highlights of in- terest were letters of welcome from the auxiliary branches in Exeter and Brussels, and a special invita- tion from the Blyth branch, request- ing the Seaforth branch to attend a social evening in Blyth August 11. A thank -you note from Comrade Sallows was read. It Was decided to send, :a letter of thanks to the Women's Auxiliary in Goderich in appreciation of the splendid time enjoyed by the Seaforth branch, Wednesday, June 25, the occasion being the fifth anniversary of the Goderich Auxiliary. Following the suggestion at a previous meeting, a cup and saucer shower was held, realizing 20 cups and saucers. Rev. I. B. Kaine officiat- ed. Mr. and Mrs. Smith will reside in Hullett. Wheatley - Walters.—Rev. D. A. MacMillan performed marriage vows on Saturday at -3 p.m., in Northside United Church for Erma Sadie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Walters, and Dyke Thomas Wheatley, eon of Mrs. Wheatley, of McKillop, and the late Thos. Wheat- ley, in the -presence of only the im- mediate attendants. The bride wore a floor -length gown of white satin with pleated net skirt, long sleeves. Yoke studded with pearls, and a headdress set with pearls, and car- ried a bouquet of red roses. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Henderson, sister of the bride, were the attendants. Mrs. Henderson chose a powder iblue marquisette dress with head- dress of blue and also wore a nose- gay of pink roses. The bride wore a gold -brooch, set with diamonds, which her mother had worn on the day of her wedding, and also wore a dinner ring of sapphires, the gift of the groom. Following the ceremony the bridal couple left on a motor trip, and on their return they will' live in McKillop. J. F. Ander- son united- in marriage Judy Arkell and Charles Denham Greer. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aldw-in Arkell and the bride- groom a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Greer. Pink and white 'mums decor- ated the altar for bhe double -ring ceremony. J. D. Murray presided at the organ. The bride, who was giv- en in marriage by her father, chose a street -length dress of powder blue taffeta under nylon marquis- ette, the over -dress featuring ap- pliques of pastel flowers. Her white hat held a face veil and she wore a corsage of red roses, Karen Ann Kidd, Seaforth, was her cousin's bridesmaid. Her dress was of ny- lon lace in navy and white, with which she wore white accessories and corsage of pink roses. Mrs. Arkell chose a beige dress with whi a accessories and corsage of pink roses. Following a reception -at the Colonia Hotel, the bride and grooin left on a northern honey- moon, the former travelling in a powder blue linen suit with white accessories. An orchid was pinned to her shoulder. They will reside at 638 Rosedale Ave., Sarnia. Matthews - Cleary,—Mary Mar- garet Cleary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Cleary, ,Seaforth, be- came the bride of Dr. Louis Joseph Matthews, Chatham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Matthews, Mt. Forest, in a pretty summer ceremony at St. James' Church Saturday morning. A band of flowers form- ed cher headdress, and she carried a miniature replica of the senior at- tendants' bouquets. The groom's brother, J. W. Matthews, was best man. Guests were ushered by W. R. Matthews, brother of -the groom, and Ronald Sills. Receiving at "Fairview," Seaforth, the bride's mother chose a street -length dress of ivory faille with black motif, black picture hat and accessories, and •a corsage of pink roses. The groom's mother assisted, wearing navy silk faille with pale blue, navy trimmed felt hat and navy accessor- ies. Her corsage blended with her costume. A navy tweed -shantung frock flecked with white and trim- med with white collar and cuffs, wa's chosen ,by the bride for a motor trip -to Quebec and the Eastern United States. A white hat, red accessories and white gardenia cor- sage completed her travelling cos- tume. The couple will reside in Chatham.
