Members of Rebekah Lodge mot- ored to Brussels on Monday when Jack Pepper was ilnown as a great curler, an enthusiastic baseball pro- moter, and a lover of 'harness ;horse racing. He had much to do with the organization ofo the Deloraine 'Sports 'Club, and was manager of Deloralne Fair and race meet for many years. He took an h,tive in- terest nterest in improving the buildings. and track at the agricultural ground, and was active in the pro- motion of the Great Western Rac- Circuit in Manitoba, of which he was the brat president. In curling he was honored by being made a life member of the -Manitoba Curl- ing Association. He managed Deloraine's first amateur baseball club during• the early 1900's, and following the First Great War, was manager of the semi pro team which wore Delor- sine colors for a number of years. He was a member of Deloralne town council for a number of years and ran for mayor in 1947, but was defeated. Left to mourn his death are his widow; one son, George, and two brothers, William 'Pepper, of Toronto, and Wesley Pepper, of London. There are two grandchil- dren.
