ing and the secretary led in prayer.
Lieut. L McNeilly, of the Salvation
Army, gave a splendid .talk on the
police work of the Army, after
which Pro. -Lieut. Douglas led in
prayer. Contests and games were
indulged in, after which lunch was
served. Miss Reid presented Rev.
and Mrs. Campbell with a piece of
glass cut by Mr. M'inett. Stanley
J. Smith obliged at the piano and
a few songs and ballads were sung.
The meeting closed with "God Save
the King."

Brother -in -Law Dies in Pott Ar-
thur.—Reeve Arthur Nicholson, of
Tuckersmith, received word of the
death on January 18 in Port Arthur
of itis brother-in-law, Ernest Mor-
ton. He had been, ill in hospital
for eleven months. Mr. Morton is
survived by his wife, the former
Florence Allen, of Egmondville, and
• an adopted daughter, Mildred.. In-
terment was in Port Arthur' ceme-
tery,
Northside Y. P. S. Meets.—The
Young People met Sunday night in
the basement of Northside United
Church with 28 members present.
The meeting opened with a hymn,
followed by the reading of the
Scripture, Romans 12:1-20, by 'Mar-
ian Chamberlain. Rev. D. A. Mac-
Millan led in prayer. The roll call
was answered and business was
discussed. A profit of $5 was made
on the Christmas party that had
been held Dec. 17, and it was dis-
cussed that a sleigh -ride party be
held later in January; with the,
boys in charge of its organization,'
and the girls in charge of the clean -1
up crew. It was also suggested'
that a play be sponsored and pre-.
sented later on. The collection was
taken, followed by. the singing of
the hymn, "Day is Dying in the
West." Pat Brugger took over the
meeting with a discussion on Citi-
zenship and Community Service.
The meeting was Iater closed with
the Mizpah benediction, and it was
decided that a short meeting be
held the following Sunday night to
discuss the sleigh -ride party.

terian manse, Galt. The bride wore
a poudre blue suit kith navy ac-
cessories and a corsage of red ros-
es completed the ensemble, Her
sister, Mrs. 'Alex Smith was the
attendant. wearing a navy blue suit
w th matching accessories and a
corsage of Talisman roses, Alex
Little was his brother's best man;
A reception- followed at the home
o•f the bride's parents. Guests were
received by Mrs. Robertson. w•ear-
ng' a navy dress, and the groom's
mother: who also wore navy. Cot -
sages of white flowers completed
their ensembles- Following a wed-
ding trip to Buffalo, the couple will
reside on Metcalfe Street, Galt.
Pridr to her marriage, Mrs. Lit-
tle was honored at a number of so-
cial functions. Mrs. Jas. Robert-
son entetrained on Wednesday- at
a trousseau tea; Mrs. J. Racz and
Mrs. A. Barbour were co -hostesses
at a shower; Miss Shirley Bruce
was hostess at a miscellaneous
shower, and the •Babcock -Wilcox
Goktirie-;McCulloch Ltd., where she
was employed before her marriage,
presented her with a table lamp.
Her husband, Jack Little, who is
employed by the .Seroggins Shoe
Co., was also presented with a
radio prior to his marriage.

Dies in Edmonton. — Advice has
just been received in Seaforth of
the death in August, 1950, of An-
nie Brooks, of Edmonton, a former
resident of Egmondville. Miss
Brooks and her brother, William
Brooks, lived in the home next door
to Mrs. W. D. Manson for a num-
ber of years before they left for
Alberta. Mr. Brooks died several,

Death of Jahn Beli.-;-he dearth
occurred in $t. Joseph's hospital,
London, on 'Wednesday of John P.
Cell, in his 78th year. He had been
iii.:ill health since shortly before
Christmas. Mr. Bell for many years
was a highly regarded citizen of
Seaforth, where he resided during
the greater part of his life. For a
number of years he operated a
steam Iaundry here,- and in 1920 be
removed to Toronto, where he was
a member of the Customs and Ex-
cise Department. In 1941 he re-
turned to Seaforth, purchasing the
former klinehleyresidence, on John
St. Always interested in athleties,
he played on the lacrosse team that
won the Canadian championship in
1895. A member of the lire brigade,
he acted. as Chief for many years
Born in Mitchell, he was married to
Margaret Jane Rolph in 1895 at
Mitchell, who survives him, togeth-
er with one son, John Clifford Bell,
of St. Marys, and two grand -daugh-
ters, Margaret and. Patricia Bell, of
St. Marys. Mr. Bell was educated
in Seaforth and was a member of
Northside United Church. The fun-
eral will be held Friday at 2 p.m.
from the G. A. Whitney •funeral
home, with Rev. D. A. MacMillan
conducting the service. Interment
will be in .Maitlandbank cemetery,

A pleasant evening was spent ,with
music and contests, after which the

The members of the Dublin Sub-
division of the Catholic Women's
League met in the parish hall on
Sunday afternoon. Mrs. John Meag-
her, the president, opened the
meeting with prayer. Mrs. Martin
•KIinkhammer, the treasurer, gave a
report on the recent canvass for
subscriptions to the Canadian Reg-
ister. The minutes were read by
the secretary, Mrs. Earl Healy.
Mrs. John A. Eckert and Mrs. Am-
brose Givlin were named to call on
the sick. Mrs. Joseph Shea 'and
Miss Rita Ryan are to collect can-
celled stamps. A reading on the
Epiphany was given by Mrs. A. M.
Looby, who was thanked by the
president.
Mrs. Kelly, of Sebringville, a
fiocesan vdce-president, was the
guest speaker, telling of the
achievements and alms of the C.W.
L. A vote of thanks for her talk
was moved by Mrs. A, M. Looby
and Mrs. D. McConnell, The follow-
ing conveners were named: Mrs.
L. Bruxer, ways and means; Mrs.
Wim. Stapleton, program; .Mrs. P.
Ryan, education and social welfare.
Plans were made to hold a social
evening in the parish hall on
Feb. 15. Rev. Dr. Ffoul;kes spoke
briefly and closed the meeting withd
