A.— Group 1 of the W.A. of Northside United Church met at the home of Mrs. Jason Ellis with 17 members present. The devotional convener, Mrs. Ellis, prepared a paper, choos- ing as her theme, "In the Begin- ning --God," and used a poem "The Threshold Of the NewYear! Mrs. Glen Pryce read the Scripture les- son. Mrs. S. Garnham presided ov- er the business of the evening. It was decided to continue the use of the blue bags in 1952. The Febru- ary meeting will be held at Mrs. W. Campbell's house and will take the form of a bazaar. Mrs. E. H. Close read a poem by Miss 11. I. Graham, "Don't Worry." Me- Neilly and Pro.Lieut. G. Douglas. Death of Daniel Quinlan.—A well known resident of Egmondville passed away on Friday, Jan. 11, in the person of Daniel Quinlan, in his 91st year. He was a well\\known trapper and lover of the outdoor life. Taken to Scott Memorial Hos- pitaI recently, he was later taken to the County Home at Clinton. On Friday he apparently left his room unnoticed, and after 'a two hours' search ' his body was found about a half mile from the Home. Born in Tuckersmith, Mr. Quinlan is. survived by one sister, Mrs. Wm. Nicholson, Detroit. The funeral was held from the G. A. Whitney funer- al home on Monday with Rev. A. W. Gardiner officiating. The pallbearr. ers were Arthur Nicholson; Rex McGregor, E. P. 'Chesney, Roy Mc- Geoch, Clair Haney and Harry Chesney. Interment was in Eg- ritondville cemetery. w LOCAL BRIEFS • Mr, James E.
