The W.M.S. of First Presbyterian
Church met Tuesday with the press
dont, Mrs. D. Glenn Campbell, op-
ening the meeting with a poem.
The hymn, "While Shepherds
Watched Their Flocks By Night"
was sung. The Scripture reading
was taken by Mrs. J. C. Greig,
"News From Heaven," followed
by prayer by Mrs. Robt. Eberhart.
The secretary's report was given by
Mr& John MacTavisb and the tress
urer's by Mrs. T. Bickel'. Home
Helpers' report was given by Mrs.
R. Eberhart and the Glad Tidings
by Mrs. R. Smith. "It Came Upon a
Midnight Clear" was sung and the
offering received. Mrs. W. A.
Wright sang a solo, "Christmas
Lullaby," accompanied by Mrs. E.
Geddes. Rev. Campbell was guest

Northside Group 'Holds Christmas
Party.—The monthly meeting of
Group Four of Northside United
Church, in the form of a Christmas
party, was held at the Thome of Mrs.
Gordon Horner. The house was
tastily decorated, including two
lovely lighted trees. The group
leader, Mrs. Sims, opened the meet-
ing by read ng a poem; Mrs. J. Cur-
rie read the Scrieture, and a num-
ber of carols were sung with Mrs.
D. A. MacM'llan at the•piano. Mrs.
Bertha Pollard led in prayer, and
Mrs. I. Hudson read a story entit-
led, "Christmas epirit," A duet was
sung by Mrs. Sims and Mrs, Mof-
tat. 'Mrs. J. A. Weetcott read a
Christmas story, followed by a duet
by Mrs. Sims and Mrs. Moffat. Mrs.
Currie gave a Christmas reading;
little Shirley Horner sang a solo in
her sweet way after wbich the lead-
er closed this part of the meeting.
The hostess and her assistants
served delicious rereshments. Mrs.
Sims thanked the hostess, the lunch
committee and all those 'who took
part in the program. The exchange
of gifts was a •pleasing feature.
Many thanks are extended to the
gentlemen who so kindly drove
their cars to and fro on this very
stormy night.

ligson was best man. A reception
followed the ceremony at the Thome
of the bridegroom's parents, which
was prettily decorated with chrys-
anthemums in varied shades. Re-
ceiving the guests, the bridegroom's
mother wore a blank crepe dress
with a white gardenia corsage. The
bride's table was centred with a
prettily decorated three-tier wed-
ding cake beneath pink 'and white
streamers centred •wlth a large
white bell. Those assisting were
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Elligson, Mrs.
Norma Elligson and Mrs. Rhinold
Kahle. For a wedding trip to Wind-
sor the bride wore a red wool jer-
sey dress topped with a muskrat
coat. On their return Mr. and Mrs.
Elligson will reside in Seaforth.
Guests were present from Walton,
Mitchell, Kitchener and Seaforth.

• Mrs, Jas. Kerr left Wednesday
for Toronto, where she will spend
Christmas.
• Mr. and Mrs. Jas. H. Grant
were in London this week attend-
ing the funeral of Mr. Grant's sis-
ter, who passed away suddenly in
Detroit.
• Mr. James Cleary, who has
been employed in a logging camp
in British Columbia, is spending the
Christmas vacation with his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Wan. J. Cleary.
• Mrs. A. Brompton, of Tillson-
burg, was in town Tuesday attend-
ing the funeral of her uncle, Mr.
Murray Pringle.
• Miss Margaret Lengyel, Toron-
to, is the guest of Mrs. F. Novak,
at the home of Mrs. Alex Kerr.
• Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Wilson and
son, John Gordon, will upend
Christmas in Detroit with Mrs. Wil-
son's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. R.
Henderson.
• Members of the Public School
Board were in Toronto Wednesday
witnessing the opening of tenders
for the new school. A Lull board
meeting will be held Friday night
to ieview them.
• Mr. Donald MacTavieh, of the
University of Toronto; Mr. Napier
Simpson, Toronto, and Mr. Oban
MacTavish, London, spent the week
end with Mrs. John MacTavish.
• Mr&. F. B. Hurbler, Rockford,
III., and Lieut. D. A. Grant, Van-
couver, B.C., are visiting Mr. and
Mrs. J. H. Grant.
• Mr. J. L. Downey, Windsor,
and Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Downey
and Mr. Louis Carlin, Detroit, were
here over the week -end attending
the funeeal of the late Mrs. Wm.

Christmas vacation with his par-

• Mrs. A. Brompton, of Tillson-
burg, was in town Tuesday attend-
ing the funeral of her uncle, Mr.
Murray Pringle.
• Miss Margaret Lengyel, Toron-
to, is the guest of Mrs. F. Novak,
at the home of Mrs. Alex Kerr.
• Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Wilson and
son, John Gordon, will upend
Christmas in Detroit with Mrs. Wil-
son's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. R.
Henderson.
• Members of the Public School
Board were in Toronto Wednesday
witnessing the opening of tenders
for the new school. A Lull board
meeting will be held Friday night
to ieview them.
• Mr. Donald MacTavieh, of the
University of Toronto; Mr. Napier
Simpson, Toronto, and Mr. Oban
MacTavish, London, spent the week
end with Mrs. John MacTavish.
• Mr&. F. B. Hurbler, Rockford,
III., and Lieut. D. A. Grant, Van-
couver, B.C., are visiting Mr. and
Mrs. J. H. Grant.
• Mr. J. L. Downey, Windsor,
and Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Downey
and Mr. Louis Carlin, Detroit, were
here over the week -end attending
the funeeal of the late Mrs. Wm.
