This Week At the Seaforth High School
(By SBi,RLEY bRtINDAY)
Ah! Just think, in two short days
we will have begun our Christmas
ibolidays! What could be more
pleasant-eleep in every morning,;
no homework to interfere with our
,plans, free to do as we wish -well,
almost.

All that remains of last Friday
night's dance is a few evergreen
boughs, and crumpled red etream-
ers, once artistically arranged to
form huge .wreaths. Thanks to
those responsible for the decora-
tions, we had a very appropriate
'Christmasy' atmosphere, complete
with a gaily lit tree, and a few arti-

ficial presents (in the way of td7Rt
books as scarcely anyone used
them that week -end). Due to the
stormy weather, the attendanee
wasn't as good as it had been for
our former dances. It must have
affected the boys in some way or
another; never before have they
been so bashful, the girls practical-
ly had to drag them off the benoli-
es in order to dance. The prizes
were different, but somewhat of a
good idea, as the boy of the 'win-
ning couple had to take her part-
ner to the show on the tickets she
received. (Well, that is one way
of getting a date!) Mac Bolton and
Leona Johnston were the last to be
eliminated in die elimination dance
and after spending several mom-
ents on one knee, Doug Whyte and
Jean Snell were given their tickets
for winning the statue dance. Les.
Habkirk and Donna McBride were
the winners of the spot dance, Dur-
ing lunch Mr. Smith and the quart-
ette, Doug Stewart, Ron Rennie,
Bob Scott and Ken Willis, :•liter-
tained us with a few of their choice
selections. But for the most part,
the dancing was done to the, new
records purchased by the Students'
Council. One in particular received
quite a workout; it must have been
a favorite of the vice-president.
The members of our Glee Clubs
are to be congratulated for their
very fine work last Sunday night in
First Presbyterian Church, wihen
they combined with the Mitchell
Glee Club to present a fifty -minute
carol service under the direction of
our "music man," Mr. (O.K. let's
go) Smith. Had the weather been

J. A. Stewart and Mrs. P. Novak
presided at the piano and. organ,

hearing. An engineer from Radio
Station CKNX was present and re-
corded the carol singing part of the
service and this will be broadcast
on Monday, Dec. 24, from 3 to 4
p.m. • Our school "cameraman," in
the person of "Dutch," spent a very
busy half hour following the ser-
vice "shooting" the soloists and the
choir as a whole. The soloists were
Alice Watson and Nancy Spittal,
from our school, and Jean Camp -

excellent work and deserve the
highest praise.
On Friday, the Boshart cedar
