Yes, our team have the Group Cthampionship for 1951 -without the necessity of winning the game over Clinton next week. Such an honour has not been brought to S.H',S. for many a year and should be appreciated (say the boys). The entire game was prac- tically rattically a see -saw, no one winning, and no one really losing. Seaforth had the advantage in the first quarter, and Goderich in the sec- ond. However, dUe to a Goderich error on a snap -back, Seaforth got possession of the ball and Doug. Stewart took two plays for the pen- nant touchdown. The convert fail- ed, but nevertheless the boys pick- ed up with an extra spurt of ener- gy, Rennie and Jacobi doing some wonderful plunging. Sills saved the day in his flying tackle, bring- ing down the Goderioh man who broke through our line and was well on the way for a touchdown in the last five minutes of the game. Our line too, deserves much credit as they are• indispensable, Floor Sanding ---AND--- Refinishing • REASONABLE PRICES ia PROMPT SERVICE Call For Estimates Box Furniture Store FUNERAL & AMBULANCE SERVICE Phone 4, ' Nights 595-W Good Used Cars AND TRUCKS '51 Studebaker 4 -Door Sedan—Like new • '50 Plymouth 4 -Door Sedan—Blue '49 Dodge 4 -Door Sedan—Blue '48 Dodge 4 -Door Sedan '47 Dodge 2 -Door Sedan '41 Dodgs 4 -Door Sedan '39 Plymouth Sedan '35 Dodge 4=Door Sedan '31 Ford, Model 'A' '41 Chev. When the final whistle blew there was a deafening cheer and a mad rejoicing. The victorious team marched with determination, tore down the Goderich goal posts and were finally met by opposition and a brief "free-for-all." The team, the whole school in fact, owes a great deal to Mr. Dobson, for with- out him our success would never have been achieved. "The Chief" was hoisted upon the shoulders of two of the players and headed the triumphant procession off the field' to the awaiting bus. The poor old bus fairly shook with the strains of "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" and the excited boistrous cheers of its happy-go-lucky occupants. Three cheers for a great team! Yeah. Yeah! Yeah! Perhaps we'd better give one to Mr. Smith. who 'footed' the immense coke bill. A somewhat unprepared snake dance took place down Main Street upon our arrival home; but next Wed- nesday, win or lose, we want the whole school to have one to cele- -r' T HURON OR • ,brate our winning of .the pennant. Hew about your support? There was a fair urnout for the musical Tuesday evening. All those who attended found the concert em joyable and entertaining. The girls especially, found the violinist of interest, but then the rest of the program was also well received. You music lovers will no doubt wish to know the date of the sec- ond concert—it is November 27. • Questions of the week: (a) Per- taining to 'the Mitchell dance: (1) Ken seems to have a sudden in- terest in trombone players --why? (2) Don McKindsey, what are you doing winning spot dances and Paying penalties? (b) Who's the walking diction- ary whose favorite expression is, quote: "Procrastination is the thief of all time and so are all the other 'high-flutin" words"?
