News Items of Hensall and District
Miss Betty Mickle, of London,
and Mr. Bill Mickle, Guelph, spent
the week -end. in Toronto, and while
there- attended the Varsity -West-
er n rugby game.
Death of Mrs. James Love
Mrs. James Love passed away on
Weenesday at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. W. Huxtable, Cen-
tralia, in her 85t111 year. The for-
mer Margaret McGann Cochrane,
she was born in Stanley Twp., and
had lived in Centralia for the past
two years. She is survived by one
son, Stanley, of Exeter, and two
daughters. Mrs. R. Madge, Stanley,
and Mrs. Huxtable, Centralia. The
funeral will be held from the resi-
dence 61 her daughter in; Centralia
ma Friday at'2 p.m., with interment
in Baird's cemetery.

"cookie day" and will make a
himme-to-house canvass.

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Johnston
missionaries on furlough from Bol-
ivia. South America, are visiting
frienda in this, vicinity ,and ad -
'Messing meetings at various places
in the interest of their work in
Bolivia. On Thursday evening of
last week a meeting was held in
Goshen United Church, presided
over by the pastor, Rev. Mr. Pitt.
Mr. and Mrs. John.ston each gave
a very earnest talk on their work
among the native Indians of Bol-
ivia, and also showed interesting
pictures, of the work on their mis-
sion field. A very liberal offering
was received in aid of their work
in Bolivia.
At the close of the meeting all
were invited to the basement,
where the ladies of the congrega-
tion provided lunch and a pleasant
social hour was spent. Mr. John,
ston is a son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Tbos. Johnston, and was horn
netZ• Blake, Feb. 29, 1892. The
nanny were members of the Blake
Presbyterian Church, and during
the pastorate of Rev. Daniel John-
ston. .Norman was led to Yield his
heart and life to God. During the
1914-18 war he enli.ted and served
his country and his king. At the
close of the war he returned to
Canada, locating for a time on a
farm ‘in Alberta, but he heard the
"all of the King of Kings to go to
'hat neglected Continent of South
emerica, and he heeded the call.
Disposing of his farm and stock,
he took a course of training in
Vancouver Bible Institute, meeting
there the lady who was to become
his wife and helper. Following
their course of training they were
married and soon went to their
field of labor in Bolivia. They are
working under "The Evangelical
Union of South America," which is
interdenominational.
This is the third time home on
furlough, and they are eagerly
waiting to go back to Bolieja as
soon as Sufficient runes are raised.
They have one daughter, Miss An-
na may, el, Three Hills, Alta. They
have many friends in this part who
myslly stand with them in :4y:rea-
lly, in prayer and financial support.

was ably given and enjoyed by all

which added. to the interest of the
meeting.
Death of Robert Coleman
Hospitalized. since July 18, Rob-
ert 'Coleman, Hibbert Twp., died in
Scott Metnerial -Hospital, Seaforth,
on Friday evening, Oet. 12. The
deceased had been in ailing health
for several months befbre being
admitted t� the hospital. He was
born in Stanley Twp. and was the
son of the late Robert C. Coleman

later bought., a home in Hilbert,
Lot 29, Con. 8. His wife, 'Margaret
Patrick, predeceased him in 19119.
He was later married to Beatrice
Franlopitt, who passed away in
1938. He was a member of Crom-
arty Presbyterian Church. Surviv-
ing are three sons: George, a
Moose Jaw, Sask.; Harold, a
Staffa, and Clarence, of Cromar-
ty, and three daughters, Mrs. Thos.
Laing (Gladys), Cromarty; Mrs.
Wm. Caldwell (Margaret), Brum-
field, and Mrs. Albert Deichert
(Rossie), of Zurich. One son, An-
drew, predeceased him in 1932.
There are two sisters, Mrs. Mar-
garet Rouatt, of Montreal, and
Mrs. Wilemina Worden, of Sea -
forth; also seventeen grandchil-
dren. The funeral service on Mon-
day, which was largely attended,
was held from the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Thos Laing and was conduct-
ed by Rev. R. Duncanson, assisted
by Rev. A. Daynard, of Staffa Unit-
ed Church. The senior male quart-
ette had charge of the music, Ed-
gar Allen, Thos. Scott, Sr., Ernest
Templeman and Frank Stagg, with
Ors. lienneth McKellar as accom-
panist. The pallbearers were Ed-
gar Butson, Frank Miller, Alfred
Ross, Montgomery Davis, Carter
Kerslake, of Staffa, and William
Worden, of Cromarty. The beauti-
ful floral tributes were carried by
the grandchildren of the deceased.
Interment was in Maitlandbank
cemetery.

Elaine Carlile, bride -elect. The eve-

mental by Marlene Richardson. A
very humorous mock wedding was
enacted by: Miss Helen Love, as
the ,bride; MTS. Bob Madge, the
groom; minister, Margaret Porter;

Elaine was then placed in a decor-
