terian Church Tuesday evening in
conjunction with the regular meet-
ing of the Fellowship Group of
the church. At the meeting which
followed the election of officers

for the early evening wedding"in
St. Paul's United Church, Preston,
Saturday, August 25, 1951, when
Marion Elizabeth Snider and Rob-
ert Boyer of Guelph, solemnized
their marriage vows. Rev. F. C.
Miller officiated. The bride is the
daughter of Mr: and Mrs. Ion Snid-
er, Preston, and the groom •is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boyes,
Aspdin, Muskoka. Given in. mar-
riage by her father, the bride wore
a gown of French chantilly, lace ov-
er pink English satin. Fashioned
with a fitted bodice, the gown fea-
tured a scalloped neckline and a
full hooped skirt. Her fingertip
veil of tulle illusion fell from a
scalloped crown trimmed with
seed pearls, and she carried an
arm cascade of white gladioli cen-
tred with a mauve orchid. Matron
of ,honor was the bride's sister,
Mrs. Robert Boyd, Preston. Miss
Patricia Burks, cousin of the
bride, and Miss Phyllis Boyes, niece
of the groom, were ,bridesmaids.
Robert Snider, of Hes.peler, brother
of the bride, was best man. The
ushers were Elmer Snider, of Ham-
ilton, brother of the bride, and Ed-
ward Boyes, Seaforth, brother of
the groom, Mrs. Duncan Addison,
Preston, was soloist, accompanied
by Mr. Addison, organist. The re-
ception was held at the Elizabeth
Room, Royal Hotel, Guelph. Later
the couple left on a wedding trip
to Cincinnati, Ohio, and Detroit.
The bride's travelling costume was
a soft grey crepe suit wibh deep
mauve accessories and an orchid
corsage. On return Mr. and Mrs.
Boyes 'will make their home at 23
Elora- Road, Guelph.

Devereaux - Wilson.—In a double -
ring ceremony, performed by Rev,
E. P. Weber at St. James' Church,
Seaforth, Miss Ethel Mae Wilson,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne
Wilson, Brucefield, became the
'bride of James Harold Devereaux,
son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Dev-
ereaux, of Seaforth. Gladioli and
chrysanthemuriis,, in fall shades
formed the setting for the mar- 1
riage. Traditional music was play-
ed by Mrs. Frank Devereaux, who
also accompanied Mr. Frank Sills,
Jr., when he sang "Ave Maria" at
the Offertory, and "On This Day,
Oh Beautiful Mother," during the 1
signing of the register. The bride
was lovely in a floor -length gown
of white slipper satin fashioned
with a sweetheart neckline, long 1
sleeves pointed over the wrists, and
a full skirt forming a short train..
Her fingertip veil fell from a coro- 1
net of orange blossoms, and she
carried a bouquet of Peerless r0s-
es. Matron of honor, Mrs. Roy Mc-
Gonigle, sister of the bride, wore
a floor -length, gown of chiffon.v61-.
vet in American Beauty shade with
matching headdress • and mittens.
Her flowers were cream roses.
Groomsman was Joseph Devereaux,
cousin of the groom, and the ush- 1
ers were Roy McGonigle and Robt.
Devereaux. Followingdinner at
the Hillcrest Inn, Mitchell, a recep-
tion was held at the home of the
brides' parents. Mrs. Wilson re-
ceived, wearing a charcoal grey 1
crepe dress with black velvet, ac
cessories and a corsage of roses.
The groom's mother, who assisted,
wore a dress of loganberry Crepe
with black accessories and a cor-
sage of roses. During the after-
noon the happy couple left for a'
trip through the Eastern States,
the bride wearing a navy nylon
dress, pink coat and navy accessor-
les On their return Mr. and Mrs.
Devereaux will live on the groom's
farm near Seaforth. Guests were
present from Toronto, London,
Brantford, Clinton and Seaforth.

necessary to disappoint a number
of correspondents by holding over
until next week their news items.
This action is regrettable, ,but
could not be avoided.
Death of Mrs. Louis Devereaux.
—Following an illness of over five
months, Phoebe O'Leary, widow of
the .late Louis Devereaux, former
well-known farmer of the Huron
Road East, passed away in Scott
Memorial Hospital on Sunday eve-
ning. Mrs. Devereaux suffered a
stroke on May 1. and had been
confined to the hospital since. In
her 80th year, she was the daugh-
ter of the late Ellen Garland and
Arthur O'Leary, of near Parkhill,
where she received her early edu-
cation. Later she trained as a
nurse in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, and followed her profes-
sion for a number of years prior
to her marriage in Parkhill in 1913.
She is survived by one son, Arthur
Devereaux, who resides on the
family farm on No. 8 Highway, to-
gether with four grandchildren. De-
ceased was a member of St. James'
Church and also a member of the
C.W.L. and Altar Society. The fun-
eral was held Wednesday morning
from her late residence to St.
James' Church and was largely at-
tend. Requiem Hie Mass was
sung by Father E. P. Weber. The
pallbearers were Frank Nolan, Ig-
natius O'Leary, Harold Jackson,
Dale Nixon, J. M. Eckert and
Frank Reynolds. Interment was
in St. James' cemetery.
Funeral of !~red R. Larkin.—Fun-
eral services were held Friday af-
ternoon, Sept. 28, at the Morris
Windsor Chapel for F. R. Larkin,
age 59, Of 1616 Riverside Drive,
Riverside, well known Windsor
businessman, who died suddenly
Wednesday. Mr. Larkin had been
in i11 health for some time and had
suffered a stroke reeently. Born
in Chatham, he was the son of the
late Red, F. H. Larkin, for many
years minister of First Presbyter-
ian Church, Seaforth. Mr. Larkin
served four years overseas as a
Gunner with the 9th Brigade Cana-
dian Field Artillery in World War
1, and won the T.,C.M. Well known
in Windsor teal ee.tate and insur-
