the ceremony. Mrs, M. Scotchmer
was organist and Mrs. E. Stur
soloist. Given it' marriage by her
father, the bi ide wore white slip-
per satin with fitted bodice. Lace
edged her fingertip veil worn with
a Cierra of •seed pearls, and she
Carried a bouquet of red roses and
ferns. The matron of honor, Miss.
Edna TLusser, sister of the groom,
was dressy d in yellow nylon net
over taffeta with bouffant skirt.
Mrs. R. Beaton, Bayfield. and Miss
.;Margaret St sling, Bayfield, sister
of the bride, were bridesmaids,
dressed' alike in pink nylon net
over taffeta. 'Their shoulder -length
veils were held in place with hands
of baby breath and roses. They
carried nosegays of roses' and car-
nations. The groomsman was
Bruce Frieday, Kitchener, and the
ushers were Don Eaton and Wil-
burt Bell, of Seaforth. The recep-
tion was held at the Little Inn,
'Hayfield. The bride's mother re-
ceived in navy blue with natural
colored hat and corsage of pink
roses. The groom's mother chose
a green flowered dress with na-
tural colored hat and corsage of
yellow roses. For travelling to
Northern Ontario, the bride wore
pale blue with white accessories.
Guests were present from Kitchen-
er, Seaforth, Zurich, Bayfield and
Stratford. Prior to her marriage
the bride was presented with a mis-
cellaneous shower by her many
friends.

the Lions Park, Seaforth, on Sun
day afternoon. Among those pres-
ent were Mrs, John H. Simpson,

ronto. Dinner was served, which

Death of Clarence J. Shockcor.—
Funeral services for Clarence Jack
Shockcor, aged 58th years, were
held in Detroit on Saturday-, July
28, at the McCabe funeral lion e.
He was the beloved husband o
Marion Jeanette Sproat, formerly
of Seaforth. The funeral was con-
ducted, by Rev. John Parish, of St.
Janes' Methodist Church. The
Lord's Prayer, by Malotte, was
sung by William J. Accles, a v. ell
known singer and a close neigh-
bor. The late Mr, Shockcor is
survived' by this wife, also two
sons. Roger and Dick, and one
daughter, Mrs. Gloria Josephson,
also two grandchildren, Linda and
Jimmy Shockcor; and three sis-
ters and two brothers. A son
Ralph, was killed in a motor acci-
dent in 1947. The floral offerings
were numerous/ and beautiful, and
were from Detroit, Cleveland rnd
Seaforth. He was also a member of
the American Legion. Palibeniers
were of the 16th Engineers of World
War I. of which Jack was a mem-
ber. Interment was in Grand
Lrwn Cemetery, Detroit.

Mrs. Harvey Taylor to honor Miss
Lois Jamieson, Reg.N., whose mar-
riage
arriage to William Le Souder, of
Stratford, took place on Saturday.
Mr. Wm. Jewitt read an address
and Glennis and Jane Jewitt pres-
ented a well -laden basket of gifts.
Lunch was served. Prior to her
doming home she was tendered two
showers, one at the nurses' resi-
dence when she received a table
lamp, and the groom's mother and
sister, Mrs. J. McDonald, enter-
tained at a miscellaneous' shower.
'Mr. and Mrs. Dolimer have re-
turned to Toronto after spending
two weeks with Mr. and' Mrs. Don-
ald Buchanan.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. H.
Taylor were Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Dodds,. of London, and Mrs. E. J.
Matthews and daughter,. Kathleen,
of San Francisco.
Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Coates, of
Rutherford, N.J., and Mr. and Mrs.
3. Pearson, of Ithaca, N.Y., call-
ed on Mr. and Mrs. Eph. Clarke on
Saturday enroute to Sudbury,
where the Coates will be guests of
honor at their diamond wedding
anniversary being held at the home
of her sister, Mrs. Brown. Mr.
and Mrs. 'Coates' many friends ex-
tend congratulations on this occa-
sion.
Mrs. William Carnoehan has re-
turned from Scott Memorial Hos-
pital and is in the care of Mrs. Mer
Elroy of Blyth.
