interest took place quietly on Sat-
urday, June 30, in Fairlawn Unit-
ed Church, Toronto, by the Rev.
George E. Trimble, when Mrs.
Mary E. Harrison, of Toronto, for-
merly of Egmondville, became the
bride of Mr. Herbert Sherk, of
Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Sherk will
be at borne at 921/2 Spencer Ave.,,
Toronto, after July 10.
Brightrall - Hogg,—In Baker St.
United Church Manse, London, on
Friday, June 29, Ethel Doreen, only
daughter of Mr. Robert Hogg, of
St. Catharines, and the late Mrs.
Hogg, was united in marriage to
Mr. Donald James Brightrall, son
of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Brightrall,
Seaforth. The ceremony was per-
formed by Rev. J. A. Agnew. The
bride chose a pink crepe street -
length, gown and wore a corsage
of white carnations, while the
bridesmaid, Beth Norris, wore
a blue street -length gown with a
corsage of yellow roses. Donald
Smith was, best man. Following a
motor trip to Niagara Falls and
Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. Brightrall
will reside in Seaforth.

Ryan - Quarry. St. John's

larkspur was the setting on Satur-
day, June 30, for the marriage of
i1elen Marie, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. A. Quarry, Burlington, to
Francis Joseph Ryan, son of Mrs.
F. J. Ryan,' of Seaforth. Reverend
Fathter J. C. Warren officiated. The
bride, "given in marriage by her
father, chose a gown of white
French lace and nylon net over
taffeta. The fittedjacket had a
petal collar and long slim sleeves.
Her headdress was a caplet of
matching French lace which held' a
fingertip veil of silk illusion. She
carried a colonial nosegay of pink
sweetheart rosebuds and white
sweet peas. -Miss Margaret Quar-
ry, sister of the bride, attended as
maid of honour, wearing a dress of
buttercup yellow, similar in style
to the bridle's, and a crownless
brimmed hat of matching yellow
lace. Her colonial nosegay was of
Talisman roseleuds and mauve
sweet peas. The groomsman was
Mr. Kenneth Keating, of Toronto.
The ushers were Mr. Allan Ryan,
brother of the groom, and Mr.
Gregory Quarry, brother of the
bride. Mr. John Bemford presided;
at the organ. and Miss Dorothy
Greer was soloist. Receiving at
the reception which followed at the
Brant Inn, the bride's mother wore
a dress of beige faille with cinna-
mon accessories. Her corsage was
yellow Johanna Hill roses. The
groom's mother wore midblue crepe
with lace inserts, navy accessor-
ies, and a corsage of deep •pink
Briarcliffe roses. Leaving for a
wedding trip to Northern Ontario.
the bride was attired` in a suit of
ice-cream pink with navy acces-
sories. Her corsage was a mauve
orchid with pink flow-erettes. On
their return Mr. and Mrs. Ryan
w'11 reside in Toronto.

eral of the late W. J. Hill, who
lied on Tuesday, June 26, '6'as held
Friday from the G. A. Whitney Fun-
eral Home, at 2 o'clock, with Rev.
W. A. Jones, of St. Thomas' An-
glican Church, conducting the ser-
vice. The pallbearers were Herald
Lawrence, Harry Colbert, M. Ald-
ington, Willis Dundas, E. C. Dos-
well and R. 13. Holmes. Interment
was in the family plot in Maitland-
eank cemetery.
Former Resident Passes.—Mrs.
Robert Dalton, former resident of
Steffa., died early' Monday at the
'tome of her daughter, Mrs, Robt.
Beare, Toronto. She was 75. She
had, not enjoyed good health for a
number of years and had been ser-
iously ill since last Friday. She
was born in New Liskeard, Nov.
21, 1875, and was the former Lucy
Maude Wright, a daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wright,
of Hibbert Township. She went to
Logan Township with her parents
when quite young and later moved
to Hibbert, where she, lived until.
.b,er marriage to Robert J .Dalton.
of Staffa, who died, more than 40 -
years ago. Mrs. Dalton later mov-
ed to Seaforth before going to To-
ronto. "She was a member of the
United Church and: is survived by
one son, Carl Dalton, of Walton;
five daughters, Mrs. Victor (Ail-
een) Smith, Mrs.' Robert (Alma)
Beare, Mrs, Murray (Harriet) Sav-
age, all of Toronto; .. Mrs. Harry
(Gladys) Howe, of Niagara Falls,
Ont.; Mrs. Foster T. (Leta) Fowl-
er, Mitchell; two brothers, Howard
Wright, of Cromarty; William
Wright, Washington, D.C.; three
sisters. Mr1. John Nichols, Toron-
to; Mrs. Earl Ross, Science Hill,
and Mrs. Herbert Kercher, Hen-
sall; also twenty grandchildren and
eleven great-grandchildren. Thi
body was brought to Mitchell and
will rest at the Heath Funeral
Home where the service will be
held Friday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Geo.
M. Lamont, of Knox Presbyterian
Church, will officiate. Interment
will be in Staffa cemetery.

S.S. No. 10., McKillop, held, an
enjoyable picnic on the school
grounds the evening of Wednesday,
June 27. About 75 were in attend-
ance at the supper table, and more
corning later in the evening. Fol-
