nual visit to the O.A.C., Guelph, on
Saturday, June 23. The group will
meet at. Scott Habkirk's garage at

Mission Band Meets.—The Alert
Mission Band of Northside United
Church held its June meeting in
the form of a picnic at the Lions
Park on June 12 at 4 p.m., with a
good attendance. Mrs. R. Savauge
and Mrs. B. F. Christie led the
children in games and contests, at
which prizes were provided for the
winners. Roll call was answered by
over 30 members, and lunch was
served by Mrs. Roberton, Mrs.
Berger, Mrs. Schneider and Mrs.
Walden.
W. I. To Hold Picnic.—Seaforth
Women's Institute will hold their
annual picnic at the Lions Park,
Seaforth, on Monday, June 25. Sup-
per will be served. at 7 o'clock,
sharp. Willeveryone please make
it a point to be there early, so that
the sports may start in good time.
Everyone is invited and are asked
to please bring their own dishes
and cutlery, and also any of the
following menu: Potato salad, veg-
etable salad., pickles, tomatoes, etc.
and strawberries (the berries to
be served! with ice cream), also
pies, tarts, etc. Meat and ice
cream will be providied. The follow-

Death .of Evan D. Rennie.—The
'death on Thursday last of Evan
Dougall Rennie, Kirkland' Lake, sou
of Mr. and, Mrs. M. R. Rennie, Sea,
forth, was learned with deep re-
gret by his many friends here. Mr
Rennie was born in Hensall and
was in his 35th year. He came to
Seaforth with his parents in 1923
and attended both public school
and Seaforth Collegiate Institute
In 1936 he went to Kirkland Lake
where lie joined the staff of the
Lake Shore Gold Mines, and in the
Second World War enlisted in the
Algonquin Regiment, and served
for a time in active combat over-
seas. While -in Seaforth he was a
valued member of the Highlanders
Band, and also played in an orch-
estra. While in Kirkland Lake he
was a member of the choir of Trin-
ity United Church and also a mem-
ber of the band, the° llgckey and
football organizations, and was
an outstanding athlete. He is sur-
vived by bis wife, the former Flor-
ence Woods; two sons, Milne Ar-
thur and Donald Ross, and a daugh-
ter, Betty Ann; his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. M. R. Rennie, Seaforth,
and three brothers, Gordon C., of
Sundridge; Ross, of Toronto, and,
Ronald of Seaforth. The funeral
conducted by Rev. Terry Hart,
was held from Trinity United
Church, Kirkland Lake, on Satur-
day, at 1 p.m., and was attended by
members of the many organizs-
tions of which he was a member,
the Band forming a guard of hon-
or. Interment was in Kirkland
Lake cemetery, bis three brothers
and three members, of the staff of
the Lake Shore Mines being pall-
bearers.

Mission Band Meets.—The Alert
Mission Band of Northside United
Church held its June meeting in
the form of a picnic at the Lions
Park on June 12 at 4 p.m., with a
good attendance. Mrs. R. Savauge
and Mrs. B. F. Christie led the
children in games and contests, at
which prizes were provided for the
winners. Roll call was answered by
over 30 members, and lunch was
served by Mrs. Roberton, Mrs.
Berger, Mrs. Schneider and Mrs.
Walden.
W. I. To Hold Picnic.—Seaforth
Women's Institute will hold their
annual picnic at the Lions Park,
Seaforth, on Monday, June 25. Sup-
per will be served. at 7 o'clock,
sharp. Willeveryone please make
it a point to be there early, so that
the sports may start in good time.

and cutlery, and also any of the

Death .of Evan D. Rennie.—The
'death on Thursday last of Evan
Dougall Rennie, Kirkland' Lake, sou
of Mr. and, Mrs. M. R. Rennie, Sea,
forth, was learned with deep re-
gret by his many friends here. Mr
Rennie was born in Hensall and
was in his 35th year. He came to
Seaforth with his parents in 1923
and attended both public school
and Seaforth Collegiate Institute
In 1936 he went to Kirkland Lake
where lie joined the staff of the
Lake Shore Gold Mines, and in the
Second World War enlisted in the
Algonquin Regiment, and served
for a time in active combat over-
seas. While -in Seaforth he was a
valued member of the Highlanders
Band, and also played in an orch-
estra. While in Kirkland Lake he
was a member of the choir of Trin-
ity United Church and also a mem-
ber of the band, the° llgckey and
football organizations, and was
an outstanding athlete. He is sur-
vived by bis wife, the former Flor-
ence Woods; two sons, Milne Ar-
thur and Donald Ross, and a daugh-
ter, Betty Ann; his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. M. R. Rennie, Seaforth,
and three brothers, Gordon C., of
Sundridge; Ross, of Toronto, and,
Ronald of Seaforth. The funeral
conducted by Rev. Terry Hart,
was held from Trinity United
Church, Kirkland Lake, on Satur-
day, at 1 p.m., and was attended by
members of the many organizs-
tions of which he was a member,
the Band forming a guard of hon-
or. Interment was in Kirkland
Lake cemetery, bis three brothers
and three members, of the staff of
the Lake Shore Mines being pall-
bearers.
