Young Canada- Week is being
-well observed in Goderich with the
annual Pee -Wee hockey .meet. This
year close to 400 players are play-
ing
layIng on the 25 teams entered in the
event. Last year's meet saw only
twelve teams playing.
Monday night the locals were
.eliminated when they lost to the
Goderich team by a close score of
16-5. This victory was attained by
sthe Goderichites after ten minutes
o', ertime.
Buddy Williamson paced the at-
tack for the winners with three
goals. Btuce McFadden kept
the locals on the scoring sheet,
Performing the hat trick.
This officially ends hockey in
Seaforth fqr this season, .1950-51.
The season was a rather long one
this year, with the Intermediates;
playing in a pre -season sehedule
early in November.

the rookie Al ,Rollins, of Toronto,_
would carry oft the Vezina Trophy
this season.
After Sunday night's games had
been ironed out, we found, to our
amazement, that Al Rollins,. 24 -
year -old native of Vanguard, peek.,
had won the. trophy. Al shared du-
ties with the old-timer, Turk Broda,
for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Rol-,
line is the first rookie to win the
cup since Bill Durnin of Montreal
Canadiens in 1943-44.
As you all know, the trophy,
named after the late George Vez-
ina, one of the National Hockey
League's great net -minders, has
been awarded annually since 1926
to the goalie playing the most
games .for the team with the few-
est goals against it during the regu-
lar schedule.
