home of Mrs. L Leeming. The
meeting opened with quiet Christ-

read by Mrs. Leeming, who presid-
ed for the meeting. Christmas car-

purchase flowers for the altars. The
laundering of the altar linens is to

be given Father O'Drowski. Ar-
rangements were made for a bingo,
lunch and dance to be held Tues-
day, Dec. 26. The meeting closed
with prayer.

The regular meeting of the W.M.
S. and W.A. of Constance Church
was held in the church on Wednes-
day, Dec. 6. Mrs. Lorne Lawson
opened the meeting with the sing-
ing of the hymn, "Silent Night,"
followed by the Lord's Prayer in
unison. Minutes were read and

The cast of the Elimville W. I.
play, "Coveralls," after presenting
their play for the thirty-third time,
Presented Mr. R. N. Creeoh, of
Exeter, with a cheque for a room
in the new Exeter Hospital. Mr.
Doerr, photographer, Don South-
cott and T. Pryde, M1P.P., were al-
so 'present.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bailey and
Betty were Sunday evening guests,
of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Brock, of
Zion.
Miss Beatrice and Mr. Charles
Delibridige are on the sick list this
week. At the time of writing they
were reported as feeling much bet
ter.
Sunday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Elwyn Kerslake were Mr. and
Mrs. Archie Webber, of Exeter.
Mr. and Mrs. •Garnet Johns at-
tended the funeral of the late Mrs.
John Passmore in Hensall on Sat-
urday.
Mr. and Mrs. Colin Gilfillan re-
ceived word that Mr. Roy (Manny)
McKellar, of Staffs, met with a
fatal accident in a gold mine in
Nova Scotia. The community wish-
es to express its deepest sympathy.
Mr. Cliff and Miss Joy Whitlock,
of St. Thomas, spent Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Horne.
Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Johns spent
Sunday at Stratford with Mrs. Ger-
tie Knox.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brock spent
Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs.
Garnet Johns.

FORUMS MEET
Big Four Farm Forum met in
the school house, and the discus-
sion resulted• in the general feel-
ing that pensions should be financ-
ed through taxation, not participa-
tion. Euohre was played and priz-
es were won by Mr. and Mrs. Les.
Butson, W. J. Fell and Mrs. Ed.
Butson.
Staffa Forum met at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Daynard and it was
t•clt there should be no means test,
but instead everyone Used alike.
The act should also be revised to
come and go with the times, it was
felt.
Cromarty Farm Forum met in
the school house with 43 in attend-
ance. Bert Riley was chairman.
It was the general feeling that a
means test is the only fair way by
which the government pension
plan can the administered at the
age of 60 years, and with $50 a
month as of conditions today. The
group favor a national insurance
instead of 'the old age pension as
today, this plan to be on a con-
tributory basis. Each individual,
starting at the age of 21 years,
