Women's League held their regular
meeting on Tuesday evening with
twelve members present. The
meeting opened with prayer by
the president, Mrs. J. Hotham. At
the meeting, plans were discussed
for the Christmas party fpr the
children, at which the pins/will be

W. I. Plans Christmas Party.—
Mrs. A. Crozier will be hostess to
the members of the Seaforth W.I.
for the Christmas meeting on Tues-
day, Dec. 12, at 8:30. The roll call
is to be answered by bringing a
gift for a child, the gifts to be tak-
en to the Children's Shelter at
Goderich. A Christmas program has
been arranged including numbers
by the children and 'Christmas car-
ols will be sung. Unless otherwise
informer, members will please
bring sandwiches. The Institute
has arranged to make up a parcel
for European children and any us.

First Church Ladies! Aid Meets.
—The 'Christmas meeting of the
Ladies' Aid of First Presbyterian
,Church was held Tuesday in the
schoolroom of the church which
was 'beautifully arranged in Christ-
mas -decorations. Mrs. J. B. Rus-
sell and Mrs, D. Glenn 'Campbell
poured tea at the Christmas lunch,
which was served at the close of
the meeting. Mrs. H. E. Smith
presided over the meeting and op-
ened the program with a Christ-
mas message. Mrs. M. R. Rennie
played the "Christmas Song," after
which Mrs. D. Ritchie gave a most
interesting and instructive talk on
her plane trip to Glasgow and Ed-
inburgh, Scotland. Mrs. E. A. Mc-
Master sang a solo, "When the
,Christmas 'Chimes Are Ringing."
Mis6 Jean Scott closed the meet-
ing with prayer. There were 45
ladies present. The following offi-
cers were elected: President, Mrs.
H. E. Smith; lst vice-pres., Mrs.
H. R. 'Scott; 2nd vice-pres., Mrs.
Robt. Eberhart; secretary, Mrs. Ed-
gar Butt; treasurer, Mrs. J. B.
Russell; pianist, Mrs. M. R. Ren-

ties and of money earned by ,pro--
jects. Mrs. J. A. Westcott, gave
the treasurer's report, showitlg a
very successful year. Reports on
the kitchen renovation and'ladies'
parlor were given, mentioning sev-
eral gifts from church members.
Mrs'. ; Morrison gave a report of
the building fund. A substantial
sum of money was traneferred to
Northside W. A. Meets. — The
W.A. of Northside United Church
held a general meeting when Mrs.
E. H. Close, corresponding secre-
tary, gave her report, mentioning
cards that had been sent to the
sick. Mrs. Frank Storey gave the
parsonage committee report, tell-
ing of several improvements that
could be made. The visitation and
social welfare report, given by
Mrs'. 'Ross ISavenge. told of 167
calls that were. made. The leaders
of the four groups, Mrs. F. Har -

trip to Europe. She spoke of her
visit to Boras, the textile eentre .1n
Switzerland, and presented a pic-
ture of life there by referring to
their hotels, stores, habits and
food. Weaving is engaged in to
help the family income. They live
a more carefree life, not worrying
too much about the future. Mrs.
Peter Dunlop favored with a piano
solo.. Mrs, Morrison presented
each lady with a gift from Santa.

Death of Maryann Feeney.—
Maryann, aged three months,
daughter • of Mr. and Mrs. Fergus
Feeney, died Thursday morning,
Nov. 3'0, at the home of her par-
ents in Hibbert Township, after, a
short illness. She is survived by
her parents and young 'brother,
Billie. The funeral, which was
largely attended, was held., from
the home of her parents on Fri-
day afternoon at three ..o'clodk;
with interment 'in St. ,Colunlban
cemetery. The flowers were car-
ried by her aunt, Rita Walsh, and
four cousins, Patricia, Rosemary,
Joyce and Agnes Ryan, followed
by her uncle, J. J. Walsh, bearin
the little white casket.
Death of Mrs. Harry Minett.—
The death occurred at the home of
her brother, Mr. E. L. Box, .Sea
forth, on Sunday morning of Mrs.
Harry Minett, formerly of Toron-
to, following an illness of some
months. While Mrs. Minett had
been in poor health for /two years,
it was not until Septerpber of thi
year, while on a visit to Seaforth,
that she .suffered a stroke. Since
that time she had been confined t'
bed. Mrs. 'Minett was the former
Henrietta•Box, daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Box, and was
