Funeral of Peter B. Moffat. The funeral of the late Peter B, Moffat, who passed away on Thursday, Jan. 26, was held on Saturday afternoon from Northside United Church and was largely attended. The public school children stood at attention outside the church as the remains were borne away. During the sor- vice James A. Stewart sang "He Wipes the Tear From Every Eye.": Rev. D. A. MacMillan was the of- ficiating clergyman. The pallbear- ers were Jack Stevens, J. A. West- cort, Ross Scott, T. B. Baird, .Robt. Jon and B.The JoyntF. Christie. flower -bearers were Ross Savauge, Lloyd Morrison, Sam Scott, 3:iraes Cox, Win. Cox, John Moffat, Don McKenzie, Carlyle Cornish and Wm, Bond. Interment was in Baird's cemetery. Death .of Daniel Neabel. - The death occurred at the Presant Nursing Home, Mitchell, on Sun- day, Jan. 29, of Daniel Neabel, of Seaforth, in his 80th year, Mr. Neabel came to Seaforth about a year ago from Grey Township, where, he had lived. for many years. He suffered a stroke about three years ago and had not been in the best of health since. Born in Grey Township in 1870, he was married to Susan Nelmes in 1898, also of Grey, who survives him, together with a family of seven sons and three daughters: Wm., McKillop; Harold, Gowanstown; Alfred, Wal- lace Twp.; Charles, Toronto; Ar- thur, ,Brantford; Albert, Norwich, and Fergus, Ingersoll; Mrs, E, Mc- Brantford;- Mrs. C. Irvine, To- ronto, and Mrs. Ed. Benneweis, Sea - forth. Deceased was a' member of the Lutheran Church. The funeral took place from the Box Funeral Chapel on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. C. Klages, Mitchell, of- ficiating. Interment was in Mait- landbank cemetery., the pallbearers being Stan Machan, 'Percy Ward, Thos. Ward, Vance Ingles, John L. Benneweis and Mr, Hollitz. Death of Miss Rachel Maivina Murdie--Death came to Rachel Malvina Murdie on Tuesday in' God- erich Township, where she had been living for the past few years. Apparently she died in her Sleep, as she was found in her room by members of the household. Miss Murdie was born in McKillop, the daughter •of'the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Murdie, well-itnown resi- dents of that township, and was in her 66th year, She is survived by a sister, Mrs. John Leeming, Win- throp, and two brothers, W. C. Mur - die, Ottawa, and Ross Murdie, Sea - forth, After attending Seaforth Col- legiate Institute and Stratford Nor- mal School. she served for 'many years as a teacher in a number of schools in Morris and McKillop. The deceased was a faithful mem- ber of Duff's Church, McKillop, and also a .member of the Eastern Star Lodge, Seaforth, The funeral was held Thursday afternoon from the G. A. Whitney funeral chapel with Rev. Patton, of Sombra, officiat- ing. Interment was in Maitland. bank cemetery, pallbearers being Archie Kerr, Win. Drop on greased sheet and bake in oven at 400 degrees ' for 10 minutes. Makes four dozen, Grape Fizz 1 tin lime juice 6 lemons 1 large tin apple -juice 2 cups grape juice - • lea cups sugar 2 large ginger ale. Mix juices and sugar. Just before serving add ginger ale. Pour over crushed ice and ladle into glasses. Makes about 35 small glasses, 20, big ones. Publjc School News On Saturday afternoon Several senior members of the school form- ed a guard of honour' for our past principal, Mr. Moffat. Mr. Moffat,, who had .beets et our school for many years, hes left many mem- ories behind him of good will. Plans are well under way for the operetta, "Tom Sawyer,” which we are presenting on March 9 and 10 in the High School auditorium This being Health Week, the school nurse is going to pay us all a special visit.
