Last Friday we had -one of ,our
echoed dances. It was. very well.
attended und enjoyed. A lunch of
coke and doughnuts was served at
12 o'clock, and then there was more
dancing after. •
In assembly -Tuesday, 'Mr. Plum -
steel commented On the iateness•,of
the starting and finishing of these
school dances, and' he seta time.
From- now on the fiancee will 'start
ai. 8:30 and will: run to 12 o'clock.

The almost impossible happened
on a "red-leter day" last Tuesday.
It was our talent in assembly. Yes,
it was a boy!:Gordon Rowland fin-
ally broke the ice For the boys'
participation in assembly. He play-
ed two pieces. on his harmonica. It
was considered the best male per-
formance' of talent in assembly for
this term.
As most of you know, the last
of four concerts presented by the
Department of Education is to be
held at the High School on Thurs-
day, Feb. 2. For those of you who
have attended any of the last three,

age of the Duncan Cup to 16 years
in order that all these lads -will

split the group and put the twelve
years and under in a separate sec-
tion, called Pee -Woes.,,
At present we are attempting to
divide the, names into separate
teams and fully have hopes of get-
ting organized, by Saturday.

Basketball Highlights
The High School basketball
teams have started out this season
with tremendous success. So far
they have played' eight games and
have won them all. Two of them
were -exhibition, but the other six
were league games. i
Last Thursday the Seaforth.
teams journeyed• to 'Wingham. in.
the senior boys, Jacobi and Chap-
man were ,top scorers, with 10
apiece: The team whipped the
Winghamites 53-15. The top scor-
er fgr Wingham was Stainton, who
had six points. •

the last quarter. with Stewart the

juniors came through with• a close
15-'12 win. MacMillan was, high

The Seaforth girls came out on
top also: under Marg. Stevens, who
hooped 10 points to win 28-4.

On, Wednesday night the Strat-
ford Normal School sent up two
teams, which almost evenly match-
ed those of Seaforth.
In the girls' game the high scor-
er was Marg. Stevens, with 16
points, which greatly helped in edg-
ing out Stratford to 18-17 victory.
The boys also fought out a very
close battle against. Stratford With
Proctor the high scorer with 11
points. The game was close all
the way through, but in •the last.
quarter Seaforth put on the force
and pulled ahead. The final score
was 36-32 for the locals.

Tuesday evening was auether
winning night for the Seaforth
Junior team. On ;that night .they'
successfully downed the Goderich
Lions by a 7-3 scoire. Mitchell
sparked the win with three goals.
The ice was quite soft and slow
ed 'the play down considerably The
Goderich team made 20 shots at
Stan Peguiski in the local net, but
he was very successful in keeping
out all but three of these • shots..
The town boys made 31 shots do

The Seaforth Juniors won two
games in their series last week
when they defeated. Goderich 10-4
and downed Milverton 'by a 9-3
count.
In the Goderich game it was yea.•
forth all the way, with. Camplin
beginning the Seaforth count at 57
seconds of the first, stanza. Sea -
forth chalked up four goals in the
first, with Goderich coming through
with two goals.
The second period showed Sea -
forth with three pore goals and
Goderich with two. The final stanza
brought the Seaforth strength back
again with three more goals.
Seaforth kept the puck in the.
Goderich zone most of the night,
with the homesters outahooting
Goderich 58 to 38. This kept'Gregg
very busy in the opponent's. net..
Stan Pigulski, for the local boys,
played an excellent game, keeping
the Lakeshore boys to a four -goal

Camplin and Mitchell tains
through on Saturday with four
goals each to spur on the local
Juniors to a 9-3 win over the Mil-
verton Lions. On a previous occa-
sion the Junios were -defeated 7-5
by this -same team.
Although Milverton were out in
front in the first period, Seaforth
came hack in the second stanza to
tie the game up, 3 -all.
The third period was Seaforth's
strong period, when they broke
through the Milverton defence to'
pump six shots past Logic. At 4:15
and 4:35 John Camplin scored,'
with Bradley doing the same at
18:30.
With forty seconds remaining in
the game, the second Seaforth line
carried the puck down and pulled

Last Tuesday we received the
needle Per vaccination. They start-
ed aching for a while, The next
one we get on the 17th of Febru-
ary. In the afternoon we heard
screams from the teachers' room.
Mr. Eastman went up and quieted
them. We don't know, how he ever
did • it!
Our Senior room has been Well

tion and fortunes of several fam-
ilies from Scotland and North-
ern Ireland to Huron County, On-
tario (and some to the United
States), in the early and middle
19th century. Families allied to
- the Kerrs receive attention, like
the Hiilens, Madills, Hodgsons,
Gai•diners, Campbells - some of
whom went to Wisconsin.

experiences of three generations
into an economic social account
of 71 pages, including 17 pages
of maps and photographs of per-
