Hello Homemakers,] Keep sup-
plies on hand for an impromotu
after -the -game supper. Serve a hot
and hearty meal in one dish such
as cheese spaghetti, creamed eggs
on biscuits, baked, beans in casser-
ole, waffles and: maple syrup, cur-
ried rice with bacon, or salmon
burgers. Many foods are now avail-
able in prepared mixes at a reason-
able price . . . the spaghetti is
packaged with grated cheese; the
dried eggs in tins; biscuit mix in
boxes; and then there is waffle
mix, bottled syrup, instant rice,
canned sausages, bread roll mix,
instant coffee, and canned cream
or evaporated milk.
Some of these foods require bak-
ing, but even this does not prevent
having an amount already cooked
for a crowd if you have freezing
space in the refrigerator for keep-
ing. However, if you have work-
ing space in the kitchen, it is a
good thing to encourage the 'teen-
agers to concoct their own refresh-
ments. Sometimes the young, folk
will make very weak coffee' and
enjoy it Which is something for
which you would be chastized. The
most 'appreciated act is the offer
of assistance by two or three peo-
ple in clearing and washing dishes.
the flower girls, Donna and Betty
Ann Barker, nieces of the bride.
They carried miniature nosegays of
white baby mums. Mr. Allan Shel-
ley, RR, 1, Embro, brother of the
bridegroom, was best man, and: the
ushers were Mr. Lloyd Barker,
brother-in-law of the bride, and Mr.
Leslie Shelley, brother of the
bridegroom- For her daughter's
wedding Mrs. Moore had chosen a
dress in loganberry wine shade.
Mrs. Shelley, mother of the bride-
groom, was dressed in a burgundy
wine shade.' They wore black ac-
cessories and yellow ohrysa.nthe-
mu.m corsages. A reception at the
home of the bride's parents follow-
ed the ceremony, The bridal table
centred with a four -tier wedding
cake, was decorated with pink and
white streamers and pink tapers in
silver holders. Those assisting were
Miss Audrey Moore, Mitchell, cou-'
sin of the bride; :Miss Hannah Mar-
tin, St. Marys; ;Miss June Klie,
Waterloo, and, Miss Eleanor Fraser
Of Kitchener. On their return' from
a trip through Northern Ontario,
Mr. and M'rs. Shelley will reside on
the bridegroom's farm, R. R. 1,
Em'bro. The bride travelled' in a
wine coat accented with black ac-
cessories. The bridegroom's gift to,
the bridal attendants were brace-
lets. The best man received a wal-
let; the ushers, tie clip. and the
organist and assistants, cups and
saucers. Guests at the wedding
were from Embro, Seaforth, Dub-
lin, St. Marys, Mitchell, Kitchener,
Waterloo and Preston.
C. R. Coultes, Belgrave (standing) and R. t. ,McKercher, Dub-
lin, will lead the Huron Federation of Agriculture in 1950, as
president and vice-president; respectively.

4, To blanche almonds, pour boil-
ing water over them and let stand
five minutes, Drain a,nd let nuts
partially cool, then, squeeze off the
skins. Place nuts in slightly
greased shallow pan and brown in
a preheated oven at 375 degrees
for 10 minutes.
5. Specify the thickness of slic-
ed: cured ham, chops., steaks, etc.
If the meat is cut too thin, 'much
of its flavor and character is lost.
6. Sandwiches can be made one
day ahead of serving if you wrap
and store them in the refrigerator.
The beet way to serve ham, cheese
and peanut butter sandwiches for
a crowd is to toast them all under
the preheated broiling element.

CHRISTMAS
SEALS
The strategy of the fight, against Tuberculosis
is developed in the Mass X -Ray Clinic, monthly
referred clinics in Wingham, Goderich and Sea -
forth, X -Ray chest examinations for hospital
admissions, the installation of X -Ray equipment
in our hospiitals and provision for the treatment
of active cases in the Adam Beck Memorial Sana-
torium at Byron.
With reference to the installation of X -Ray
equipment, the County Executive is undertaking
this year to install X -Ray equipment in Clinton
Public Hospital at a cost of $5,100, so, that a new
regular chest clinic service can be provided. As
soon as funds are available, it is ' ontemplated
that the other Hospitals in Huron County will
•
receive this same equipment.
In order to complete this phase of the mas-
ter plan to fight, Tuberculosis, the CHRISTMAS
SEALS CAMPAIGN needs your help!
Remember, your contribution
is your part to stamp out
Tuberculosis, Be generous !
