(OmmmunityRecreation Centre I -' I . Mere Ore- the Facts! The need for a Community Recreation Centre has long been .felt by forward-looking citizens of our community --= Display space was lacking at our Fair Grounds -- Boys Scouts and Girl Guide Organizations were 'disbanded two years ago- for lack of meeting rooms'— The - Spring Horse Show was discontinued a ' few years ago for lack of facilities — The Women's Institute has experienced trouble finding a place to meet — and so it goes. The Local Branch of the Canadian Legion was quick to support the idea of a Community Centre and voted the $10,000 raised for a Legion Hall to this project, as .it felt that this type of living Memorial would 'serve best to honor its fallen comrades, .and keep the memory of the valiant deeds of Canada's Army constantly in the minds of coming generations. The. -citizens ' of Seaforth endorsed by vote a $40,000 grant by the Town. The Provincial grant will raise the total to $60,000. .
