Scott rendered"two beautiful `Ethos, "Be- cause" and "Oh Promise Me." Fol- lowing the '-o'eremoey a buffet lunch was served to .about fifty- five guests at the house of the bride's parents. The brici1)7e mother received in a Dove gray own with matching accessories and a cor- sage - of Talisman renes. The groom's mother wore a wine crepe dress with black accessories and a corsage of Talisman ros'es. Girl friends of the 'bride assisting at the luncheon were Misses Donna Fowler, Gloria Clarke, Ruth Jew- el and Alma Smith. The groom's gift to the bride was a double strand of pearls; the ,bridesmaid, a gold fan -shaped compact; the best man, a leather wallet, and the soloist, a gold tie pin. Toasts were proposed to the bride by Rev. Campbell and .the bride's grand- father, J. J. Hugill. Later the hap- py couple left amidst showers of confetti on a motor trip as far west as British Columbia, the bride donning a navy dress with match- ing accessories and a topcoat of loganberry red, trimmed with grey squirred collar and cuffs, and a corsage of Talisman roses. On their return they will reside in Brussels. Mr. Burke officiating, when Lola Delores, on- ly daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Finlayson, Leaside, Toronto, was united in marriage to Robert Mar- tin artin Neilson, son of Mr, Maurice Neilson, of Toronto, and the late Mrs. Neilson. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a moss green suit with champagne blouse and hat, and carried a liz- ard bag and corsage of Johanna Hill roses and heather. The brides- maid, Miss Patricia Henderson, was dressed in a beige suit with brown accessories. Mr. John Neil- son, brother of the groom, was best man. Following the ceremony a buffet luncheon was served at the home of the groom's father, St. Leonard Ave. The groom's gift to the bride was a white gold wrist watch. South Huron Pres- byterial was held in the church here on Tuesday with' Mrs. E. Desjardine, of Grand Bend, in the chair. The devotional part of the morning Session was taken by Thames Road Auxiliary. A chicken dinner was served to about 100 women. Exeter James St. had charge of the devotional opening of the afternoon session. Miss Scrimogeour, Missionary f ro m Trinidad, gave an interesting talk and Miss Bishop of Toronto also spoke on missionary bales of used clothing for overseas. Rev. Mair closed the meeting with pre er. Auxiliaries from Grand Bend, Cred- iton, Thames Road, Roys, Centralia and Ohiselhurst were represented. Wood - Wilson.—The Parsonage of the Staffa Church was the scene of a pretty October wedding when Annie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wilson, Dublin, was united in marriage to Mr. Donald Wood, son of Mrs. Charles Wood, Sea- forth.Rev. A. H. Daynard officiat- ed at the ceremony. The bride wore a gown of slipper satin, styled with side bustle, sweetheart neck- line, trimmed with beads and rhinestones. Her full length veil of embroidered French illusion was held in a crown of sequins, and she carried a' bouquet of American Beauty roses. Miss Auleen Moore, Mitchell, was the bride's only at- tendant, gowned in blue brocaded satin, made with net skirt, nylon yoke and puff sleeves. Her head- dress. was a blue net bonnet with matching flowers. She wore nylon net gloves to match her gown and carried pink Better Times roses. Mr. Charles Wood, Seaforth, was best man for his brother. A recep- tion was held at the home of the bride's parents, which was decor- ated with pink and white stream- ers and bouquets of gladioli and other autumn flowers. The assist- ants were Mrs. Thomas Gould and Miss Ethel Wilson. The bride's mother received in a gray crepe dress made with double peplum, and wore a corsage of Talisman roses. Mrs. Wood, mother of the bridegroom, assisted in a frock of torquoise crepe trimmed with sequins. Her corsage was of bronze roses. Later Mr. and Mrs. Wood left on a trip to Toronto and Ham- ilton, amilton, the bride travelling in a wine gabardine suit with navy accessor- ies. The couple will reside in Dub- lin on their return. Mrs. Edwards, mother of the bride, received in a navy dress with white accessories and wore a corsage of peach color- ed orchids and fern. For travelling the bride wore a navy blue coat, shawl collar and acces- sories of steel grey. Following a wedding trip to Detroit and points east, Mr. and Mrs. King will re- side in Sault Ste. Marie. Hugill on Tuesday, Oct.`11. Mrs. Lorne Lawson opened the meeting with Hymn 95; Mrs. E. Adams led in prayer, followed by the business 'and roll. call. The slate of officers is to be handed in at the Novem- ber meeting. The Thankoffering is to be held in the Church on Wed- nesday, Oct. 26, with Mrs. W. J. Thompson, of Seaforth, as guest speaker. Mrs. Dave Millsonn took charge of the program and Mrs. C. Montgomery led in prayer. A duet by Mrs. Geo. Mcllwain and Mrs. C. Montgomery was much en- joyed. Mrs. W. L. Whyte•very cap- ably took the study book, after which Hymn 285 was sung and Mrs. Lindsay closed the meeting with prayer. Mr. and Mrs.. Blacker and fam- ily, of Goderich Twp., spent Sun- day with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Riley. Mr. and Mrs. Borden Brown and Joyce spent Sunday with relatives at Allan Park. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dexter and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Jewitt were in London on Thursday. We are sorry to know that Mrs. Dexter's father, Mr.. Henry Adam, is 'at present a patient in Victoria Hospital. Mrs. Edith Logan, Blyth, is spending a few days with her daughter, Mrs. Leo Stephenson. •Mr. and Mrs. Jack Busby and Shirley, of Chatham, spent the week -end with Mrs. Robert Law- son. Mrs. Lawson returned to Chat- ham with them for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stevenson and family, Brussels, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Riley on Wednes- day. Former Seaforth Woman Passes. —Mr. and Mrs. Deem, Stratford, were in Toronto at the week -end to attend the funeral of Mr. Deem's aunt, Mrs. Samuel Deem, The de- parted woman was a former reel - dent of Stratford, leaving there al- most 40 years ago.
