Evening Auxiliary Meets
The monthly Auxiliary meeting
was held at the home of Hiss M.
Ellis on Tuesday night, Oct. 11,
with,an excellent attendance. Mrs.
P, McNaughton assisted the hos-
tess. The president, Mrs. J. Cor-
bett, opened the meeting with the
Ode and the Lord's Prayer, after
which the hymn, "All People That
on Earth Do Dwell," was sung. An
interesting reating devotional period, suit-
able for Thanksgiving, was 'then
followed, consisting- of responsive
passages, ' hymns and prayer. The
members offered a lovely selection
of aprons for -the bazaar in answer
to the roll call, and the collection
was taken. Mrs. J. Corbett pre-
sented the missionary item, "Can-
ada, our new home.', The hymn,
"Come, Ye Thankful People, Come"
was used, During the business ses-
sion the buying committee distri-
buted print for the making of more
aprons. It was decided to. hold the
bazaar in the schoolroom of the
UrAted Church on Saturday, Nov.
19, at 3 o'clock, Home -baking, pro-
duce, sewing and knitting, candy
and --a .fish pond will be features.
Tea will be served. Full arrange-
ments will be • completed at the
next meeting. At this -time Mrs.
Blackwell dealt with the study
book chapter in an effective man-
ner. The next meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. L. Chapman.
The meeting concluded with the
hymn, "Lead Kindly Ligaht" and
prayer. The 'hostess and her as-
sistants served dainty refreshments)
at the close.
Hensall Chamber et Commerce
met Monday evening in the Town
Hall with a good attendance, with
President R. H. Middleton in the
