Ed, Fink, one of Hensali's most.
prominent and public-spirited citi-
zens, completed major alterations
and improvements to his two
stores this month. This accom-
plishment has been the result of
years of hard work and faithful
service to the people of Hensall
and district. He was born in Han-
over on April 1, 1916, but lived
there only a short time, moving to
Neustadt, a small village only a
few miles from Hanover. His
schooling was obtained in Neustadt
and it •was there that he first
learned the essentials of tinsmith-
ing ,and plumbing, working for
John Meyer. Later he worked
with F. L. Huenomoerder, of Han-
over, spending nearly eight years
in his employ.
In 1938 he moved to Hensall, and
for the next seven years worked
with Bonthron & Drysdale, a well
established firm in the Village of
Hensall. In 1945 Mr. Fink bought
the plumbing part of his employ-
er's business and set himself up in
business in a building which he
purchased across the street from
his employer. This building con-
tained only a single store, and it
was not until recently that the
store now occupied by John Tudor
was built adjoining it. From this
time until now Mr. Fink has slow-
ly and progressively built his
plumbing and heating business.
The business has grown to such
an extent that he bas now ten
men in his employ.
While he has been a very busy
man, he has not shirked his duties
as a citizen. Since moving to Hen-
