Robinson, sister of the, bride, played the tra- ditional wedding music, and Miss Mary Smith, of Toronto, was the. soloist. Her two numbers were "0 Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go" and "0 Perfect Love." The recep- tion 'wars held at the home of the bride's parents at Fernlea. The bride's mother received the guests in a gown 'cif blue floral jersey .aseisted by the groom's mother, also in floral jersey. They wore oorsages of pink roses. The •bride's° table was centredi with the three- tier wedding cake and decorated with pink candles, carnations and sweet peas. The waitresses in- cluded the bride's sisters, Mrs. R. Robinson, Mrs. J. McGibbon and Mrs. J. Veit;..,, also Mrs. Harold Bowmana and Miss Evelyn Robin- son. Out-of-town .guests were pre-' sent from Seaforth, Toronto, Ham- ilton, London, Aylmer, Galt and Tillsonburg. The groom's gift to the bride was pearls; to the best man aand ushers, tie pins. The bride's gifts to her attendants were pearls. The bride chose for her going -away costume a rose faille dress with navy and white accessories and corsage of Johan- na Hill roses and cornflowers. Af- ter a wediding trip to Virginia, U.S.A., Mr. and Mrs. Lamont will reside at Fernlea. Tanner - Russell. -First Presby- terian Church, Seaforth, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Saturday afternoon at 2.15, when Edith Winnifred, daughter of Mrs,. James Burn Russell, of Seaforth, and the late Mr. Russell, was unit- ed in marriage to Mr. Richard Whittier Tanner, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Aird Tanner of Regina. Rev. D. Glenn Campbell performed the ceremony in a set- ting of lovely blue delphinium and white Madonna lilies.' Mrs. M. R. Rennie played the wedding music aid accompanied Mr. Jas. T. Scott when he sang "0 Perfect Love." The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather, Mr. James R. Scott, and looked smart in a gown of white taffeta with wide neck- line, short puff sleeves and a triple tired gathered skirt with lace in- eert.on. Her flowers were white roses and Stephanotis. Her at- tendants were her two sisters, Misses Harriet and Barbara Rus- sell, who wore dresses of pink taf- feta and carried nosegays of sweet peas. Mr. William Tanner, of To- ronto, was his brother's grooms- man, and the ushers were Robert McKinley and Gerald Longworth. A receptihn was held at the home of the bride's grandfather. Meets.—The W. M. S. of First Presbyterian Church recently held the June meeting with Mrs. R, Eberhart as chairlady, who opened the meeting by reading the poem, "God Loved the World, Do You?" Mrs. T. Bickell was appointed acting sec- retary, while' Mrs. C. Aberhart is absent. There were 30 calls made on the shut-ins and six by the Wel- come and Welfare Secretary. The supply offering was received by Mrs. Bickell. Miss Lena Graham reported four cartons of good lit- erature packed and sent to Toron- to, for which a letter of thanks was received. Games and jigsaw puzzles are welcome for the in- mates of the Ontario Hospital. Mrs. Robert Eberhart reported the Pres- byterial' meeting held in Clinton. and announced that the fall rally will he held in Clinton on Septem- ber 14. It was with regret that the resignation of Mrs. W. J. Thomp- son was received after her faithful period of seven years' service with the C.G.I.T. The president and the secretary were appointed to con- tact several ladies within the con- gregation as leader of these Young girls. Mrs. J. Parkins opened The devotional period with a poem en- titled, "All Things To All Men,' Mrs. W. D. Smith gave a short poem on prayer and Mrs. Parkins followed with prayer, Mrs. Park- ins' group answered the roil call with a verse of Scripture. Miss Janet Simpson read the Scripture lesson from the 32nd Psalm. A solo entitled, "Alone," was sung by Mrs. J. E, Daley. In an interest- ing and instructive manner, Mrs. D. G. Campbell gave the story of the Biackbearded Barbarian, Rev. George Leslie Mackay. After Mrs. Hugh McLachlan led in prayer, the Lord's Prayer was repeated in uni- son.
