Northside W. A. Helds Meeting.
—A general meeting of the Wo-
man's Association of Northside
United, Church was held 'on Mon-
day with 41 ladies present. The
meeting opened with Hymn 309,
after which the Lord's Prayer was
repeated in unison. The Scripture
lesson was read responsively from
Psalm 737 in the ,hymnary, led by
Mrs. J. A. Westeott. The minutes
of the last meeting were read and
approved. The president, Mrs. Mor-
rison, conducted the business of
the evening. The group reports
were given: Mrs. 0. Dale reported
for Group 1; Mrs. Porteous for
Group 2; Mrs. B. F. Christie for
Group 3, and Ethel Storey for
Group 4. These were very inter-
esting and showed splendid work
accomplished so far this year. The
treasurer's report showed a sub-
stantial balance on hand after $600
being transferred to the building
fund. Hymn, 483 was sung and the
meeting closed with the Mizpah
benediction, after whieh a dainty
buffet lunch was served.

Ladies' Guild Holds .Meeting.—
The regular monthly meeting of
the Ladies' Guild of St. Thomas'
Church was held at the home of
Mrs. W. R Shaw on Tuesday. Twen-
ty-two members answere& the roll
call with an apron far the autumn
bazaar, to be heal November 16.
Mrs. George McGavin, the presi-
dent, opened the meeting with the
Epistle for the second Sunday af-
ter Trinity, read by Mrs. T. Dale
Jones, followed by prayers for the
parish and Lord's Prayer in uni-
son. The various reports were re-
ceived and accepted. Mrs. Ray-
mond Nott asked that a shower of
gifts for the mystery tree be
brought to the September meet-
ing at Mrs. H. Colberes--five to
ten cent wrapped gifts for chil-
dren, twenty-five cent wrapped
gifts for adults. The offering was
received and dedicated, and the
meeting closed with the benedic-
tion. Mrs. Shaw then served a de-
licious tea. ,

Ralph McNichol; Miles Evan, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Little;

More than 100 members of the
Fischer family gathered at the
home ofaMr. and Mrs. Fred Beuer-
mann in Logan Township, on Sat-
urday for an annual reunion. Jerry
Doerr, president, was in charge
and extended a welcome.
Janet Beuermann sang a solo,
followed by a duet 'by Betty and
Bobby Doerr. Two readings were
given by Lloyd; Thiel. Two minutes
silence was observed in memory of
those who 'have died during the
year. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schra-
der invited the group to have the
next reunion at their farm on the
second Saturday in June, 1950. The
following officers were appointed
for next year: President, Earl
Schweitaer; vice-preeklent, Henry
Schrader; secretary, Harold Fis-
cher; lunch committee, Mrs, Wil-
fred Seebach, Mrs. Roy Thiel, Miss
Viola Fischer; sports committee,
Wilfred Seebach, Roy Thiel, Mrs.
Norman Fischer and Mrs. John
Kreis. The minutes of the last re-
union were read by the secretary,
