Geddes on Tuesday even- ing, when about 15 were present. Plans were.made ;final for a. con- cert to 'be held en Friday, April 23, in the church. Miss Alice Reid read an Easter Scripture reading, and Rev. D. G. Campbell led in prayer, Hymn 484 was read in uni- son son ,as a prayer.. Fallowing the business, Rev. Campbell allowed moving pictures of the City of Ed- monton, Washington, D.C„ and Princeton, N -J., and lastly a mov- ing ,picture of Seaforth, which in- cluded the four churches, Salva- tion Army and several of the out- standing industries in the town. Mrs, Geddes and Miss Mary Ged- des served a delicious lunch. see Mission Band Meets.—'Phe Eas- ter thankoffering of the Mission Band of Northside United Church was held Tuesday afternoon with an attendance of 35 members. Be- ing an open meeting, there were visitors present. After singing "Tell Me the Stories of Jesus," Neil Broadfoot gave the prayer. The Scripture lesson was read by Billy Scott. Carland Donna Ber- ger sang a duet and two selections on the piano were 'played by Ruth Ann Crozier. Mrs. A. W. Sillery told an interesting story of "A Lump of Clay." A solo was sung by Betty Lou Goudie; Ruth Pender gave a recitation; a group of girls repeated the Members' Purpose. "God Sees the Little Sparrow Fall" was followed by, the Mission Band benediction. Lunch was serv- ed. Collection amounted to $8.71. Lawrence ` were appointed dele- gates to go to the Huron Presby- terial, to be held in Hensall on April 26. A paper on. Christian Stewardship was given by Mrs. J.,j Finlayson, and ''Mrs. C. C. Keene!, had a temperance reading, and Miss Ferguson took the Scripture readings. Mrs. C. Glew, assisted' by Mrs. Garnham, Mrs. Broadfoot, Mrs. Barron, Mrs. Bechtel and Mrs. Lawson took the Easter pro- gram. About 35 ment'bers, sat down to the table centred with e. three-tier wedding cake and silver baskets of roses and daffodils and silver candles. Mr. Harold Bell proposed a'toast to the bride and groom of 25 years ago and was responded to by Mr. Stephen. A cabinet of silver was presented to them by the Bell •family, a silver tea service by the children of the couple, and several other gifts of silver from other members. The evening was spent playing cards and music, the children of the fam- ily singing, "I'm Comin' A'Courtin' Cora Belle," with guitar accompan- iment. Members present were: 'Mrs. Mary Stephen, Mrs. Thomas Bell, Mr,.and Mrs. R. Stephens, of Chesley; Mr. Sam Miller and fam- ily; Mr. and Mrs. J. Heckman and family, of Dashwood; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bell; Mr, and Ml's. Lloyd Bell and Eileen, of Exeter; Mr, and Mrs. William Stephens and family; Mr. Jack RObiiison, of liirkton; Mrs, Don O'Hearn, and the chil- dren of the couple, Murray, Wan- da, Donnie and Betty Anne, Lon- don, were present. The Euchre Club met at the hall on Thursday evening with Mr. and Mrs. G. Penhale as hosts. There were eight •tables in play, the win- ners being Miss Verde Kellet and Alvin Pym; consolation prize to Donnie Stephen. A dainty lunch was served at the close. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Stephen were present- ed with a sliver bowl in honor of their twenty-fifth wedding anni- versary on Saturday. Au -address was read by Elgin Skinner and the presentation made by Alvin Coop- er. Mr. Stephen thanked the Club for the lovely gift. A basket of mixed flowers and fernery formed an effective set- ting in the Evangelical United BrethrenChurch, McKillop, Satur- day, April 16, for• a double ring ceremony, uniting in marriage Leotta Laureen Hoegy and Mr. Ed- win Henry MacKenzie. Rev. R. ' Lederman, of Listowel, officiated at the ceremony at 2.30 o'clock. The bride is the youngest daughter , of tdr. and Mrs. Fred Hoegy, Dub- lin, and the bridegroom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Mac- Kenzie, Detroit. Miss Rose Buer- mann, 'McKillop, played as bridal music, Melody of Love and Be - I cause. The soloist, Miss Grace Wietersen, Bornholm, wearing a formal gown of pink brocade and net, sang "0, Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly." A floor length gown of white lyrocaded marquis- ette was worn by the bride, who was given in marriage by her father. Her gown was fashioned, with a sweetheart neckline and fingertip sleeves, and the skirt ex- tended into a train. Her long grace- ful veil was held in place with two gardenias, and she carried a bou- quet of red Better Times roses, and sweet peas tied with stream- ers. The bride's only jewellery was a gold locket, a gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaid, Misa Lois MacKenzie, Detroit, sister of the groom, was wearing a gown of pastel pink brocaded satin in floor length style, a pink flowered hat to match her gown and sliver slip- pers. She carried a silver bag and her flowers were deep pink Briar- cliffe roses. The flower girl, Shir- ley Kleber, Seaforth, wore a long frock of primrose taffeta, a gold heart -shaped locket, a gift of the bride and bridegroom, white slip- pers and carried a nosegay of pink and white sweet peas and carna- tions. Mr. 'Lavern Hoegy, brother of the bride, was best man, and Mr. Gilbert Hamock and Mr. Wil- bur Hoegy ushered. A reception fcllowed the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. Hoegy received in an afternoon dress of gray crepe with lace trimmings and eyelet -embroidered sleeves. She wore gray and black accessories and a corsage of sweet 'peas and carnations. Mrs. MacKenzie, mother of the bridegroom, who assisted, had Chosen a navy blue crepe frock in street length style with which she wore pink accessories and pink and white sweet peas with carna- tions in corsage. The room was festooned with pink, white and yel- low streamers for the occasion. The ,assistants were Mrs. Aaron Doerr, Miss Helen Laczko, Galt; Miss Isabel Purcell, Stratford; Mrs, Hd'trry Wietersen, McKillop; Mrs. Carl Eisler, Mitobell; Mrs, Gordon Muegge, Seaforth. The bridegroom's grandmother, Mrs. Zapfe, Brucefield, was among the guests.
