Adult Fellowship Group Meets.—
The Adult Fellowship Group of
Northside United Church held
their first meeting for the fall in
the form of a pot -luck supper at
the church, followed by a short
meeting. Hymn 577, "Come, Ye
Thankful People, Oome," was sung
and Psalm 119 was read respons-
ively. Mr. Workman led in prayer.
The minutes of the previous meet-
ing were read and the roil call
answered with the description of
an interesting place visited during
the summer. Arrangements were
were made for the fall program,

Correction. — In the story con-
cerning the death of George Van -
horn in last week's issue, a former
resident of this town, it should
have been stated that he had been
married in 1904 to Miss Annie
Ryckman, of Chiselhurat.
Jenner - Holmes.—Pink gladioli
and ferns formed the background
in St.. Olave's Anglican Church,
Toronto, for the marriage of Edna
Kathleen, daughter of Mrs. Charles
Holmes and the late Charles
Holmes,. to Kenneth Dale, son of
Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Jenner, of
Windsor. Rev. S. K. Stiles officiat-
ed. Given in marriage by her
uncle, Mr. Glen Holmes, the bride
wore a gown of white brocaded
moire styled with a sweetheart
neckline with a yoke of white
nylon marquisette and a fitted bod-
ice. The skirt formed a cascade
drapery in front. She wore her
grandmother's wedding veil, hip -
length, hem embroidered with silk
and held in a sweetheart head-
dress of white net edged with seed
pearls. Her shower bouquet was of
white gladioli and pale pink roses.
The bride's sister, Miss Carolyn
Holmes, was the maid of honor
and wore a rose taffeta gown. Her

Mr. Calvin Nelson was the best
man, and the bridegroom's bro-
thers, Mr. Lorne Jenner and Mr.
Doug. Jenner, were ushers. The
soloist, Miss Theresa Tatro, sang
"Through the Years" and "I Love
Thee," and Mr. Terence Burt 'play-
ed the wedding music. At the re-
ception at the "Mayfair Country
Club," the bride's table was decor-
ated with chrysanthemums and a
three -tiered wedding cake. The
bride's mother was in a wine crepe
dress with dark green accessor-
ies and wore a corsage of deep
wine gladioli and yellow rosebuds.
The bridegroom's mother was in a
navy blue draped dress with gray
accessories, and wore a corsage of
wine gladioli and pink rosebuds.
For travelling on a two-week trip
to Northern Ontario, the bride don-
ned a pink suit with gray acces-
sories and wore a corsage of pink
and yellow rosebuds. On their re-
turn they will reside in Toronto.
Out-of-town guests were from Sea -
forth, Windsor, Roseland, Port
Credit and Hamilton.
Death of Ralph E. Cresswell.—
Word was received Wednesday, of
the death in Pasedena, California,
of Ralph E. Cresswell. Mr. Cress-
well passed away at 9 o'clock that
morning (noon Seaforth time).
Telegrams advising of his death
were forwarded to his cousin, Miss
Florence Fowler, Seaforth, and to
K. M. McLeati, the latter being de-
livered .a few moments after the
passin.g of Mr. McLean. While Mr.
Cresswell had not enjoyed good
health for some „years, it was not
until two weeks ago that his con-
dition became serious. The eldest
son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin
Cresswell, of the second concession
of Tuckersmith, he went West as
a young man, but spent his sum-
mers in Seaforth with his sisters.
His last visit to Seaforth was in
1941. He is survived by his two
sisters, Miss Florence Cresswell
and Miss Emily Cresswell, of
Pasedena, Cal., and one brother,
Mr. Harry Cresswell, of Calgary,
Alberta. ., 'Funeral arrangements
and other details were not avail-
able ah time of going to press.

ton, on Sunday, both morning and
evening on the occasion of their
anniversary services.

B.C., is visiting relatives and
friends in this district. It is 24

and in the meantime had been to
