VARNA
Death of Mrs. John Beatty
Death claimed another highly re-
spected resident of Varna in the
person of Margaret Glenn, wife of
the late John Beatty. Deceased
was in her usual health and was
suddenly stricken with a heart at-
tack Monday evening and passed
peacefully away Friday morning at
2.15 a.m., August 6, in her 83rd
year. She was a daughter of the
late Margaret Glenn And William
Horton. Her mother died when
she was an infant and she was
raised at the home of her grand-
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Glenn.

on the farm she raised two boys
and one girl, Jack and Gordon Ray-
mond and Annie Vanston, now Mrs.
James Perry, Toronto. She was a
valued member of St. John's An-
glican Church and W.A., Varna. A
private funeral service was con-
ducted by her Rector, Rev. La -
Verne Morgan, front the Bald &
Mutcit Funeral Home, Clinton, on
Monday, August 9, at 2 p.m. Those
attending the funeral from a dis-
tance were Mrs. R. Cole, Cram -
arty; Mr. and Mrs, John Glenn,
Mr. George Glenn and Mr. James
Braadfoot, Hensall; Mr. and Mrs.
G. V. Raymond and Mr. Jackson,
London; Mr. John Raymond, To-
ronto; Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Woods,
Listowel. Mrs. James Perry, —To-
ronto, was unable to attend owing
to illness. She leaves to mourn
her loss a host of friends, one sis-
ter, Mrs. R. Cole, Cromarty, now in
her 85th year; two half-sisters,
Mrs. H. Hoggarth„ Seaforth, and
Mrs.`s'. Atkinson, London, and Miss
Mossop, who feared. for her through
her illness and who has lived with
her for many years. Pallbearers
were Wilmer Reid, Lee McConnell,
Harold Elliott, John Aldington, Ed-
ward Foster and Carl •Deihl. In-
terment was in the family plot in
Baytfield cemetery. For nearly 50
years Mrs, Beatty wasa valued cor-
respondent of The Huron Exposi-
tor.

Rev. Y. C. Ts'ai, of the Diocese

was the special speaker at Trinity
Church, Bayfield, Sunday morning.
The speaker who is going back to
teach at the first Christian Uni-
versity at Yen Chiang, is at the
Huron Diocese Camp with his wife
and two children for the summer.

of Paris, are the guests of the for-
mer's sister, Mrs. E. Weston, and
Mr. Weston this week.

ter, Claudia, of Detroit, are visit-
