By tha time you have' this Polumn read the'regular schedule will have run put and',,,the four teains at the top of the heap will be treaditig dowg the serni-final trail and vieing or the Minh and the championship, The local eatrY in the Senior 'A' Group of the W.O.A.A. has done well this summer, staying at the top of the group all season, having lost only one game, and that .at the latter part of the season, On Wednesday evening the Bosharte played in Clinton against Radar, but this game did not mean any- thing as far as. the standing was concerned, having won in Blyth on Monday night to cinch top place with 40 points. Centralia is second by virtue of two wins, one of which was a four -point tame, giving them 3.1 points. Wingham is ,in third place. A game . between Clinton Town and Blyth may mean another game, should Clinton win, as they would tie Blyth for the fourth spot playoff berth. We understand that Clinton Radar, who have been playing their games in this group, will be playing their playoff games, in "B" company. The Senior "A" Executive will probably meet Thursday or Friday evening to plan the playoffs with these four teams should Clinton win their game. Seaforth Bosh - arts, Centralia Flyers, Wingham Mereurys and Clinton Town, with Saturday probably being the first date of the semi-finals. The final standing, exclusive of the Clinton -Blyth game, is as fol- lows: Seaforth Centralia Wingham Blyth Clinton Please watch the posters for the date of the local playoffs. since some of the games will be played before this column reaches you by neat week. * * * If you want to see the Seaforth Bosharts play their best ball we would advise you to come down to the Lions Park when the semi- finals start in the Senior 'A' group. This was a good group the past summer and there were sortie real good games played. With the starting drive for the champion- ship, the boys will no doubt be out there to win at every pitch and should produce the kind of ball all sport fans love to see. So be on hand, for the boys want your sup- port and you shouldsupport your home town team at all times. We believe all games will be under th'e arcs and so will give the fans lots of time to get readyi to come down and enjoy the games, but watch posters for games, time and dates. * * * GP W L T Pts, 21 20 1 0-40 21, 15 5 1-31 21 13 7 1-27 20 5 15 0-10 20 4 16 0-, 8 With the girls' softball schedule closed for the season, it was found that Seaforth Fawns and Walton were tied for second place, with a sudden -death game being played at Brussels on Monday night. AFORTH Motors The Seaforth Red Sox lost two hardball games during the week, one to St. Marys, the second to Hensel]. The game here Tuesday night was filled with errors, as the locals did not play their usual brand of game, and no team can win if they are going to let the ball go loose on them every time it comes out in the field, It certainly was not Seaforth's night, and the game ended 17-6. * * * The Legion Juvenile softballers played three games since last ThurSday with the Sally Anns springing a surprise when they de- feated • the Dublin Irish. In a game played at Dublin, the Seaforth Tiger S played a close game and threw a scare in the Irishmen as the score was 14-13. Ronnie Broome pitched a good game for the Tigers, and with any luck would have been the winner. SEAFORTH TIGERS -R. Suth- erland, e.s.; Taylor, 2b.; Hubert. c.; Muir, c.f.; B. Broome, 3b.; R. This was a fair game, but the' boys can do much better if they pay more attention to the game that is on hand. We note that some of the youngsters seem to want to see what is go- ing on in some other part of the park while on the field and don't watch what they are doing, and this is part of the reason that most th.scores are so high. If they will settle down we are sure that they' can play much better ball. TIGERS -B. Flannigan, 1.f.; Suth- erland, s.s.; Hubert, c.; R. Muir, 3b.; Taylor, 2b.; B. Hubert, r.f.; Browne, c.f.; J. There were 52' bowlers taking part and all report- ed a good time. The greens were very keen and the visitors were well pleased with the evenings en- tertainment. • Three ten -end games were played, followed by a lunch of sandwiches and coffee, topped with a treat donated by Mrs. George Johnston of berry tarts with whip- ped cream. As the evening was chilly, a roaring lire in the fire- place greeted the bowlers at the conclusion of the games.
