The Seaforth Red Sox, in a julien- ne hardball game at Hensall, came through with a 'close win over the Bewail juveniles, with an 8-7 count. The locals} 'showed improvement and had lots of light and Pen in their play, and did well to defeat the strabger and more experienced Hen- sall team. Beattie, pitching, and Henderson, 'catching, made a strong battery, with the farmer tossing them over for hi,s, best game this season, striking out 13 batters, out of a possible 18, and allowed ,seven scattered hits. Hensall had to rely on three h irl- ers, but -did. not stop the Red Sox as the heavy 'hitters in Blakeley, Header - non, Hubert, Laudenbach and Beattie connected. for eight hits Four of these were for extra bases. Seaforth's big frame was the fourth, when they scored five of their eight runs. The teams were nearly even in the error department, Seaforth having three, Hensall four. The locals are travelling now after a shaky start, and with more support from the fans .the 'Red' Sox will be in there at the finish. If they can keep up their winning pace they will create a record in not losing a scheduled game all season, and should be well off for the finals -when they start in August. The regular schedule ends on August 6. Jim MacDonald's . Fawnlings won three games during the past week, which places them well up in the standing. On Tuesday night they won another game against Blyth, the score being 15-6 in a, keenly contested game. The girls are playing fine ball now and are worthy of your support. Last Thursday Auburn visited here and the Fawns took them by a score 19-6. G. Foster was the winning hurler with one strikeout and one walk. She had good support in the field as only two errors were com- mitted. The opposing pitcher, M. Hunking, fanned four and walked two, but had little support in the field as Auburn had 11 errors. D. Cook, of Auburn, clouted the game's only triple. while D. Dale, A. Wilson, J. Glanville, B. Dale and G. Foster slugged out two -baggers. AUB1JRN—M. Bunking, p; J. Mc- Clinchey, ss; V. Cook, ib; J.
