Zurich Minstrels will present their
annual show in the Hensall Town Hall
on Wednesday. April 21, 1948, at 8.15
p.m., sponsored by Hensall Chamber
of Commerce. Proceeds for Commun-
ity Building Fund. Admission: Adults

Joyce Priestap, little granddaugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomson,
Kippen, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs,
Clarence Priestap, .Mitchell, has been
successful in getting second prize with
83 marks in girls' solo eight years and
under, at Stratford Musical Festival.
She also came gecond in piano solo,
eight and under, open class, 83 marks,
besides having a good standing int
solo nine years and under, and in an-
other piano class.
Citizens of Hensall and surround-
ing districts were treated to areal
even'ing's enjoyment in the Town Hall
Monday evening, when the popular
radio show, CFPL Goea Calling, pre-
sented a delightful entertainment.
•The show brought the CFPL all-star
orchestra, the four chorders, the
Tozer Sisters, Jule Faust, Don Hard-
ing and other artists familiar to the
people of Hensall. Sponsoring the
show was St. Paul's Club of St. Paul's
Anglican Church. Musical director is
Don Wright. Highlights of the affair
were local people' •participating on
the program. Prize winners in leading
the band were: 1st prize, Miss Mary
Goodwin; 2nd, Jack White; 3rd, ' Ken
3idacLean. Finding the hidden articles
on the stage were: 1st prize, Miss
Elaine Carlisle; 2nd, Mr. Sanderson;
3rd, Mrs. Jack White. The club served
refreshments to the cast.
A dance will be held in the Town
Hall, Hensall, Friday, sponsored by.
the Hensall L.O.L. Proceeds will be
donated to the Hensall Community
Building Fund.

Funeral of Martin McTaggart
The funeral of the late Martin Mc-
Taggart was held from the residence
of his nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Kinsman on Thursday, April 8,
at 2.30 p.m., with Rev. R. A. Brook
officiating. The pallbearers were Jas.
Drummond, Wm. Martin, Jos. -Fergu-
son, Stanley Mitchell, Wm. Venner
and John Glenn. Flower bearers were
R. Sararas, Percy Wright, .Ken Mac-
Kay, Russ. Ferguson, Gerald Glenn
and Lloyd Delport. Interment was in
McTaggart's cemetery.

Mr. Harold (Buzz) Finnigan had
the misfortune to fall off the steps
last Friday night, tearing the liga-
ments of his knee.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Boyce and family,
Mr. Robert Boyce and Mrs. A. Ches-
ney visited with friends in Wyoming
recently.
Mrs. Clair Haney, Lynn and Charles
who have been spending the past two
weeks with Mrs. Haney's parents, Mr.
aid Mrs. W. J. Finnigan, have return-
ed to their home at Niagara Falls.
Mr. Alex Lillico has purchased Mr.
Albert Pepper's farm in Tuckersmith.
Mr. Lillico has sold his Egmondville
property to Mr. Reg, • Knight, who
gets possession on May 1.
Mr, Stewart Finnigan, of St. Cath-
arines, visited his parents. Mr. and
Mrs. W. J. Finnigan, over the week-
end.
Ken Haiser, who was drawing feed
on Monday, suffered severe injuries'
when the team ran away, throwing
him under the wagon.

at the home of Mrs. E. McQueen on
Tuesday. Splendid reports were pre-
sented from the different depart-
ments. Mrs. E. Geiger gave a report
of the Temperance Federation con-
vention held in Toronto, and Mrs. F.
Appleby contributed a lovely solo,
"Bless This House." . Officers for 1948

Miss Edith Forrest was taken to St.
Joseph's Hospital, London, this week
in the interest of her health.

bride -elect of this Saturday, whose
marriage to Cecil David Kipfer will

tal Tabernacle, Exeter. Some fifty
neighbors from the 10th concession of-

bors in Hensall gathered for the
event. A social time was spent in

Pepper - Dalrymple
Brucefield Manse was the scene of
a pretty wedding on Saturday, April
10. at 12.30 noon, when Grace, daugh-
ter of W. H. Dalrymple, Brucefield,
became the bride of Raymond Pep-
per., son of Mr. and Mrs. Join E.
Pepper, of Stanley Twp. Rev. E, R.
Stanway. of Brucefield 'United Church,
performed the ceremony. They were
attended by Miss Kay Dalrymple, of
Glencoe. and Randal Pepper, of Sud-
bury. The brides chose a blue taffeta
gown with bustle back, full skirt, a
halo of blue ribbon from which fell a
finger-tip veil. She carried a white
Bihle with streamers and American
rosebuds and lily of the valley, knot-
ted in the ribbon. The bridesmaid
wore Nile green nylon marquisette
over yellow satin, sweetheart neck-
line, fitted bodice and full skirt.

nosegay of daffodils. A reception was
held in the Clinton Hotel . where 24
guests were served. The table was
centred with a three-tier wedding
cake and the room was decorated in
irises, daffodils and tulips. Guests
were prent from Stamford Centre,
Sudbury, Stratford, Clinton, Glencoe
and Brucefield. Later in the day Mr.
and Mrs. Pepper left on a trip to
Niagara Falls and Toronto, the bride
travelling in navy blue with grey a, -
cesaories. On Wednesday afternoo
and evening a trousseau tea ;was ,held
when 76 guests registered. Those as-
