thriving industry, George W'. Crich has established a new and different business in Dublin. A veteran of the
Royal Regiment, Mr. Crich, after his -return from overseas, established with the aid of his wife, Terry Paper
Novelties, and now.they find it difficult to meet the demand for their product. He is a son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. W. A. Crich, of Seaforth. In the upper picture Mr. Crich is seen busy completing a shipment of
Valentine hats, while Mrs. Crich (below) is shown displaying one of her specialties, a centrepiece, for a cup
and saucer shower:

and H. Bolger were appointed a com-
mittee to co-operate with the Lions
Club and Bowling Club committees in
the planned construction of a play-
ground and bowling lawn on the fall
fair grounds. Bert Hemmingway was
appointed to the board of associate
directors. It was decided that plans
be made to hold picture showings,
on the evening prior to fair day.
The Fall Fair will be held on Sept.
30 and Oct. 1. On Sept. 30 all indoor
exhibits, including school work, will
be exhibited and judged. Oct. 1 will
feature the display and judging of
livestock, with the harness races in
the afternoon. Special attention will
be given to the exhibiting of entries
by the junior grain and calf clubs. It
wns reported that the members of the
junior clubs are already making plans
for their competitions.
A bachelor is a man who wouldn't

CROMARTY
Thomas R Warden died in Scott
Memorial Hospital, Seaforth, Sunday
morning in his 76th year. Mr. War-
den, who was a lifelong resident of
Concession 10, Hibbert Township, suf-
fered a stroke three weeks ago. He is
survived by his wife; a brother, Jos-
eph Worden, and a sister, Mrs. J. M.
Miller of Staffa. The funeral took
place from his late home on Tuesday
afternoon at 2.30 o'clock with inter-
ment in Staffa cemetery.

Frank Kirkby has sold his farm to
M. Chapman, of Morris Township;
William Bolton, Rochester, N.Y., with
his brothers, Samuel and Earl Bol-
ton; Cameron Dennis, North Bay,
with his brothers and sisters, Misses
Ethel and Jessie and Wilfred and El-
mer Dennis; Mr. and Mrs. Moody Hol-
land have moved to their new home
in Blyth; Ross Driscoll is in Scott
Memorial Hospital, Seaforth, where
he underwent an operation.
The ladies of the Anglican Church
held their regular Guild meeting at
the home of Mrs. T. Duggan.
Rev. R. G. Hazlewood is presenting
special Lenten sermons from the pul-
pit of Duff's United Church at the
Sunday morning services during the
weeks approaching Easter.
The members of the Y.P.S. of Duff's
Church are making arrangements for
a dramatic play in the near future.
The Ladies' Aid of Duff's Church is
preparing a concert and social eve-
ning to be held in the church base-
ment on March 17.
A pleasant • evening was spent at
the home of Miss A. Gordon, when
the ladies of the losing side in the
copper tartest in the Walton group of
the W.M.S. entertained the winners
to a Valentine supper and social eve-
ning. Mrs. E. Hackwell and Mrs. R.
Traviss received the guests who were
adorned with Valentine novelties. In
the dining room Miss Gordon, Mrs.
James Clark and Mrs. G. McArthur
served a buffet supper. Mrs. Hazle-
