1NEW LIFE
C. G. I. T. Holds Sociel Evening.—
The C.G.I.T. girls dntertained their
mothers recently in the schoolroom.
of First ,Presbyterian Church, when
24 covers were laid. The Tuesday
Night Club catered for the dinner,
which proved very delightful. Mrs.
W. J. Thompson, leader of the group,
and Miss Phyllis More, the president,
welcomed the guests, while Miss
Pullman played a march while plac-
es were being found. Miss Barbara
Wright proposed a toast to the
Mothers, to which Mrs. Scott Hab-
kirk responded. Mrs. Thompson pro-
posed: a toast to the W.M.S. and the
Church, to which Rev. R. H. Wil-
liams responded. Miss Phyllis More
extended a hearty vote of thanks for
the banquet, to which Miss Alice Reid
replied. Between the supper hour and
the time of the regular meeting, Miss
Peggy Willis played a piano selec-
tion. Mrs. Thompson and Miss More
conducted the opening exercises of
the meeting, and Misses Joyce Glan-
ville and Doris Pullman sang a duet,
"Love Lifteth Me." The worship per-
iod was directed by Mrs. Thompson,
the girls taking part. Mrs. David Rit-
chie, in her usual capable manner,
told of the work of the W.M.S. and
how the C.G.I.T_ affiliated with the
society. She said the W.M.S. chal-
lenged the girls to carry on the good
work of the senior society. Mrs. R.
Eberhart presented the affiliation
badges and Mrs. Scott Habkirk led in
prayer. The meeting closed with the
benediction,
