Death of Ernest Hutton. — Word
was r$ceived' on Wednesday of , the
death of Filrnest Hutton, In R,innar-
dine,, brother of Mrs. Joseph Grum-
meat, of Harpurhey. Mr, Hutton had
been in good health, but Buffered a
heart attack. and died suddenly. He
is survived by his wife and two daugh-
ters,, also by his mother and' five
brothers and' three sisters.
Death of Mrs. Dan Regele. — The
death occurred in Scott Memorial
Hospital on Wednesday morning of
Lena Drager, widow of the late Dan
Regele, a former resident of McKil-
lop. She was born' in McKillop and
lived there until the death of her
husband, when she moved to town.
She is survived by one son, Gordon,
of Sudbury, and one daughter, Mrs.
Les. Rapien, McKillop, and five grand-
children. The funeral will take place
on Saturday, Dec- 27, from Whitney's
Funeral Chapel, with interment in the
Evangelical cemetery, McKillop, with
Rev. G. L. Grose officiating.
Death of Mrs. John McGinnis.—
There passed away in Detroit on Fri-
day evening, Dec. 19, Mrs. McGinnis,
widow of the late Dr. John McGinnis,
formerly of Seaforth. Her death fol-
lowed an accident when she was
struck by a motor car while on her
way to a drug store. Mrs. McGinnis
Lived in the Daly home on Victoria
Street where Dr. McGinnis practiced
for a number of years, after which
they left to go to Wailaceburg over
thirty years ago. She is survived by
one on, Dr. D. H. McGinnis. The fun-
eral ryas held on Tuesday with in-
terment in Wailaceburg.

Dies in St. Marys --The death . of
Mrs. Mary Clarke occurred• at her
residence in St. Marys on Saturday,
Dec. 13, following a heart attack. She
had been in poor health for a number
of years. The deceased was in her
Stith year. Born in Blanchard Town-
ship, she was formerly Mary Rinn,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
William Rinn. Her husband, the late
John Clarke, and two daughters, Am-
anda and Annie, predeceased her
some time ago. Surviving are five
nephews, three dangiiters and one
grandchild: Lillian, William and
George McCulIy, Ephriam, George
and Clarence Clarke, Miss Belle Mc -
'tulip, Mrs. Oliver Anderson and Mrs.
Howard Armstrong. The funeral took
place from Ross Marriott funeral
home at St. Marys on Monday, with
Rev. W. E. Aldworth officiating. In-
terment was in Killarney Cemetery,
Manitoba.
Adult Fellowship Group Meets.—
The Adult Fellowship Group of North -
aide United Church held their Christ-
mas meeting on Monday with Presi-
dent John Stevens in the chair, and
opened the meeting by singing "0
Come, All Ye Faithful." Rev. Mr.
Workman led in prayer and minutes
of the November meeting were read
by Tom Wilbee, acting secretary. Fol-
lowing the• business period, Rev. Mr.
Workman installed the new officers
for 1948, Christmas stories were
read by Mrs. Alvin Riley and Miss
Kay S'itlery. Different scripture pass-
ages were taken by Mrs. Turnbull,
Bob Knight and Charlie Wood with
Christmas carols sung alternately, ac-
companied by Miss Olga Hoare at
the piano, and Miss Audry Hall on
the violin. The meeting closed by re
peating the Mizpah •benediction. A
delicious lunch was served by the so-
cial committee. Games and contests
were conducted by Tom Wilbee and
were much enjoyed. The following
officers have been elected for 1948:
president, Thelma Blgie; vice-presi-
dent, Audrey Hall; treasurer, Kath-
leen Sillery; press secretary, Janie
Moffat; pianist, Laura Mole; assist-
ant pianist, Mrs. Workman.

The regular meeting of the C.W.L.
was held with the president, Mrs. J.
A. Murphy, 'in the chair, The meet-
ing opened with prayer. The minutes
as read were adopted. A donation
was sent to Father Flannery's radio
program, "School of Christ," also the
Good Shepherd Sisters., Literature
has been sent to Missions. The treas-
urer's report showed a substantial
balance. Mrs. Moylan and Mrs. Mc-
Quaid were appointed to visit the
sick; $10 was donated to help pur-
chase flowers for the altars for
Christmas; 415 was given to Father
O'Drowski as a Christmas gift. ,Boxes
of treats are being sent to sick and
shut-in members as a Chrismas re-
membrance- Final arrangements were
made for the Christmas dance on
Dec. 29. The meeting closed with
prayer.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jordan an-

daughter,, Eileen, to Mr. Francis Pat-
rick Williams, the wedding to take
place in St. Patrick's -Church, Dublin,
on January 3.
On Friday morning the pupils and
`teacher presented Ella Louise Cor -
man with a gift prior to her depar-
ture for Hagersviile. Joan Britton
read the address and Ilene Whetham
made the presentation. Elba Louise
thanked her friends for their gift,
Mary Lou Ruston, of Seaforth, vis-
ited her sister, Mrs. Hubert O'Reilly.
Mr. Joseph Evans, of Toronto, is
visiting his mother, Mrs. Catherine
Evans.
Miss Velma Moore, Stratford, with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie
Moore.
, Mr. Harold Wilson returned home
from London hospital on Saturday
much improved, after his operation.

visiting her mother, Mrs. Catherine
Evans.

During the past few weeks Christ-
mas seals of the Ontario Tuberculosis
Association have been, sent out
throughout Hensall and district.
Some of these have been paid, but
the majority of them have not. It
will be much appreciated if those
,having seals will leave their mdney
at the Bank of Montreal, Hensall, or
send direct to J. W. Morley, Exeter.
A reception for Mr. and Mrs, Jim
Campbell, of Toronto; a recent bridal
couple, will be held in the 'town Hall,
