Death of ohn McLean
Mr. John McLean, highly esteemed
resident of Chiselhurst, died at the
home of his daughter, Mrs. Harold
Hunter, Elimville, on Sunday even-
ing following a five weeks' ilinesst in
his 85th year. Born at Chiselhurst,
hip: was a member of the Chiselhurst
iTnited Church. Surviving are five
sons: Robert, Glenn and Lloyd of
Hensall, Ross of Detroit, and Melvin
of Port Dalhousie, and two daughters,
Mrs. Oliver Rowcliffe, Hensel], and
Mrs. Harold Hunter. Private funeral
service was held from Bonthron's
Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1.30
p:m., conducted by Rev, R. A. Brook.
Burial was in Hensall Union Ceme-
tery.
Hensall Canadian Legion and
Chamber of Commerce were hosts to
local and district children Saturday
afternoon when they held their an-
nual community Santa Claus party.
Santa Claus received a rousing wel-
come from the children, Reeve A. W.
Kerslake and Rev, R. A. Brook. Hun-
dreds of bags of candy, nuts and
oranges were handed out. A free pic-
tire show was held in the Town Hall,
and following this a draw was made
for three lucky ladies, and the win
,era were Mrs. Edgar Mcelinohey,
Mrs. Charles Forrest and Miss Mae
