Mr. Fred Turner, of Goderich, was

CROMARTY
Cromarty School, S.S. No. 6, held
their Chnstmas concert Friday even-
ing in the schoolhouse under the
leadership of the teacher, Miss Mor-
ris, and of Miss Dougall, the musical
instructor. A fine program of recita-
tions, plays and dances was enjoyed,
also a visit from Santa Claus.
Cromarty ,,Presbyterian Y.P.S. met
Sunday evening in the church base-
ment with the president, Hazel Ham-
ilton, presiding. Philip James read
the Scripture; Hazel Hamilton read
a story; Lloyd Sorsdahl took the top-
ic, and Elton Allen and Lloyd Sors-
dahl sang a' duet. A Christmas social
is to be held on Dec. 27.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cooper attended
the funeral on Monday of the Rowey
family, five of whom died as a result
of a railway crossing accident, last
week near Eden.
Church services were held in the
United Church schoolroom on Sunday
and it is expected that the main audi-
torium of the church will be repaired
for the special Christmas services
that are planned for next Sunday.
On Sunday last during the morning
services, Mr. Hinton expressed grati-
tude to members of the church and
the people of the community for their
devotion to their church, risking
smoke and fire to keep the flames un-
der control until the Hensall and
Brucefield lire brigades arrived.
Operations have been discontinued
on the Dashwood Road and Gordon
Wren, who has been employed there,
has resumed Ms job as rural mail
courier over Route No. 3 out of Kip -
pen.
Mr. Norman Jarrott, who has been
working on Jarrott Bros.' farms for
the past season, left last week to
spend the winter with his brother-in-
law near Lucanl
Mrs, Alice Cook and daughter, of
'London, spent over Sunday with her
mother, •Mrs. McClymont.
Miss Alice Wren• of London, spent
the week -end with her parents, Mr.

on Monday, The program, which is

sist of pantomines, readings and
songs, Santa Claus will be present
and present treats to all the kiddies,
who will be admitted. free of charge.
Dr. Gilbert C. ,Jarrott and Miss
Anne Jarrott, of Stratford, visited on
Sunday with his mother, Mrs. J. Jar-
rott.
Mrs. Arnold Gackstetter is spend-
ing a couple of weeks .with her aunt
and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. W. Horsey
in Exeter.

Mrs. W. Honrey, who has spent the

ed the reception and dance in' honor
of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dayman,
'newly-weds of Kippen, in Hensall
Town Hall on Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Price, of De-
troit, spent the week -end with the
litter's another, Mrs. Thos. Bell.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Craig, of Kirk -
ton, were recent visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. W. Routly.
Mn. Lloyd Johns returned home
from Victoria Hospital Friday, but
has his: arm in a cast.
The Junior Bible Class held a pot-
luck supper at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Delmer Skinner Thursday eve-
ning. After supper there was an elec-
tion of officers and crokinole was
played.
The Euchre Club met at the , hall
last Tuesday evening with Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Sparling as hosts. There
were eleven tables in-, play, the win-
ners being 1'Irs. Wm. Johns, Mr. Har-
old Bell, and sonsolation to Mrs.
Grant Ford.
The Student Parliament of the
Winchelsea school held a banquet
there Monday night with a Christmas
dinner of turkey and all the trim-
mings. Guests included Rev. and
Mrs. Mair, Mr. and Mrs. Garnet
Hicks, Mr`. and Mrs. W. Walters, the
teacher. Mr. Harvey Sparling had
his aunt, Miss Edith Sparling, re-
turned missionary, of St. Marys, as
guest speaker.
