Lawrence Dunn, of Exeter, died
suddenly in Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don, on Friday evening, Nov. 7, in
his 25th year. He underwent an op-
eration ' Tuesday and was thought to
be improving nicely, but suered a
relapse. Dorn in Hurondale a son
of Mr. and Mrs. George Dunn, be-
fore taking up residence in Exeter he
rested at Ohiselhurst where he is
well known. Be was a member of
James iSt. 'United Church, Exeter.
Surviving are his widow, the former
Iva Willis; his parents, three bro-
thers, 'Mervyn of Hurondale, Elmer of
Toronto and Chester of Exeter, and
two sisters, Mrs. Ray Lana -rale, Cen-
tralia;
entralia; Mrs. Jack Paisley, Toronto.
Private funeral • services were held
from the home of has father-in-law,
John N. Willis, Exeter, Monday,
Nov. 10, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev.
H. J. Snell, assisted by Rev. R. A.
rook. Interment was in Exeter cem-
etery. The deceased was a nephew
of Mrs. John' Passmore of Hensall.

Mr. Wellington Bell and daughter,
Louise, of Detroit, spent the week-
end with relatives here.

Day on • Tuesday, when a service of
unveiling, honoring the fallen of
World War II was held at the Ceno-
taph, ' followed by a service in .the
.Town Hall. A. parade, consisting of
the Hensel)branch of the Canadian
Legion, town and township councils,
clergy, School Board, Chamber of
Commerce, Girl Guides, Brownies,
Boy Scouts, Cubs and school Children,
and headed by 'the Clinton .Kiltie
Band, marched from the public school
to the Town Hall. At the cenotaph
Dr. R. Hobbs Taylor, M.P.P., unveil- .,
ed' the 'new inscription of names, as-
_sisted . by ..Guide Orion Stephan and
Scout Ron McKinnon. The banners,
were carried by Donald McKaig and
Dave ,Sangster.
The' service was in charge. of the
Branch. Chaplain, Rev. P. A. 'Fe'rgu-
son, and''the hymn, "Abide With Me,"
was sung, and prayer by Rev. R. A.
Brook. The names of the 'fallen her-
oes 'of World Wai' II were read by
"r the Rev. Ferguson, and are

A service followed in the Town Hall
with Reeve• A. W. Kerslake presid-
ing. A combined choir assisted with
the service of praise. The hymn, "0
Valiant Hearts," was sung. The Scrip-
ture lesson was read by Rev. C. L.
Langford and prayer ...offered by Rev.
Brook. Rev. R. H. Sanderson pre-
sented a very appropriate message in
keeping with the occasion. 'Rev. Fer-
guson pronounced the benediction at
the conclusion of the closing hymn.
Despite the•heavy rain which fell dur-
ing the morning, it did not place a
•damper on the attendance, the hall
being filled for the service.
, Monday, Nov. 17, an organ recital
will. be given in Carmel Presbyterian
Church by Mr, Max McGee, of Lon-
don, with 'Mr. Gayle Gordon, violinist,
assisting.
Mrs. Alex Buchanan will observe
her 88th birthday on Wednesday,
Nov. 19.
Mrs. Catherine Balser will celebrate
her 95th birthday on Tuesday, Nov.
25.
The Hensall Branch of the Cana-
dian Legion, through the medium of
