Anniversary services were held on
Sunday, Sept: 28, in Ontario Street
United Church, with Rev. W. A. Bee-
croft, of „Wingham, as guest preacher.
A large congregation greeted him
both morning and evening.' His morn-
ing subject was "A New Heaven and
a New Earth," taken from. Revela-
tions 2.1, and Isaiah ,65. The new
earth must be fashioned by present-
day citizens who believe in and work
for truth, righteousness and faith as
given to us in the Bible and lived by
Jesus Himself. The same mind,cas
Paul 'said, must be in us as was10
Jesus Christ. William Blake, a great
poet of .the seventeenth century, had
given us a great motto which we
might take as ours today,in our fight
against unrighteousnen, when he
said; "I will not cease from mental.
fight, nor Shall my sword sleep in any
hand, till we have built the new Jer-
usalem, in England's green and pleas-
ant lands." Mrs. Wilson Pring, of
Harristein, was the guest soloist for
the d.ay and delighted her audiences
with her messages -of song. The eve-
ning subject was "The Recreation of
Adult Society," ,and his text from
Luke 10, where . Jesus .sent His dis-
ciples out two by two to.
ate the sick, helplessi and weary
ones in societ:Y. So today the mjnis-
,ters need help in this great work.
Mrs. W. Pring sang two solos in the
evening also, "May I Come In?". and
"Hold Thou My Hand."
