�N.7,, Reath of Mrs. Louth,—The death oc-
ourred in Seaforth on Thursday last
of Mary Smith, widow of the late
William Louth, (n her 77th year, .at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. John
T. Kaiser. Deceased was bora in
Camphel:lville but resided all her lite
iu Norval, until two years ago when
she 'cavae to live with her daughter
in Seaforth. Mr. Louth passed away
twelve years ago. Surviving are five
sons, Herbert,. Wesley and George,
of Norval, Walter and George, of
Georgetown, and two daughters, Mrs.
Chesney, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs.
John T. Kaiser; Seaforth:' .The fun-
eral took place from her former home
in Norval on Sunday, with interrient
in Hillcrest cemetery.
St, Thomas' Church Guild Meets_—
The St. Thomas' Church Guild held
its September meeting on the ninth, of
this month in the Parish Hall. Ten
members we�•e present, ,and Mrs. G.
McGavin, the president, opened the
meeting with the Scripture reading
from Ephesians, chapter 3, followed
by prayers for the parish, for parish
workers,' for hospitals and the Lord's
Prayer in unison. Reports .from com-
mittees were dealt' with and plans
made for the coming term. Members
volunteered to assist in hospital aid
work and Red Cross sewing. Arrange
-
meets were made. for holding tne. an-
nual bazaar and tea on Wednesday,
Nov. 19, in the Parish Hall. Talent
money already brought in amcnnted
to $11.25. The ccx,t meeting will be
held' an October 14,• After the offer-
tory was dedicated, the meeting was
closed with the" benediction.

Death of Miss Jane Ballantyne.—
The death occurred in Woodstock
early Monday morning, September 15,
of Miss Jane Ballantyne. Miss Bal-
lantyne was a daughter of the late
William Ballantyne and Agnes Mc-
Kay Ballantyne, well known pioneer
residents of Seaforth. After graduat-
ing, from the Seaforth Collegiate and
.Normal School, she taught for a
number of years at Bluevale,, Beams-
ville , and "Seaforth. She is 'survived
by her sister; Miss Belle 'Ballantyne,
of Seaforth, a sister, Margaret pre-
deceased her in 1925, . and a brother,
John, passed away in 1943:" The fun-
eral was held from the Whitney Fun-
eral Chapel, Seaforth, on Wednesday
afternoon at 2 p.m.; when the service
was conducted by Rev. R. 11. Wil-
liams, minister of First Presbyterian
Church. Interment, was made in Malt -
landbank . 'cemetery, the pallbearers
being- Messrs. M. McKellar, J, W.
Free, D. L. Reid, Frank Kling, W. D.
Smith and K. M. McLean. Among
those who attended the funeral from
a distance were a niece, Miss Lorna
Ballantyne, of London,, and a cousin,
Mrs., N. J. Cowling, of Toronto,
Pudney .McMaster, --First Presby-
terian .Church, Seaforth, was the set-
ting for a wedding of interest on
Monday afternoon at three o'clock,
of Miss Margaret Joan McMaster,
eider daughter of Dr. and Mrs.. Erwin
A. McMaster, to Mr. Kenneth Harold
Pudney, son of Mr. and, Mrs, Edwin
Pudney, of London. The church was
beautifully decorated- with 'standards
of white gladioli, and Rev. Duncan
Guest, - of Wyoming, conducted the
ceremony, with Rev. R, H. Williams
assisting. Mrs. M. R. Rennie was at
the new console organ, and' Miss Lois
Whitney sang "The Lord's Prayer"
before. the ceremony and "Because"
during the signih•g of the register.
Given in marriage' by her father, the.
bride wore a gown of heavy white
faille fashioned with' Sweetheart
neckline with eyelet inset long point
ed sleeves, the bouffant skirt forming
a long train. A headdress of small
white blossoms held her long veil of
tulle and she carried red and white
rdses caught with white embroidered
ribbon: Miss Jean McMaster, of Ham-
ilton,, sister of the bride, was'maid of
bower, and Misses Joan .Gardiner and
Helen Smith, of London, were brides=
maids, and Miss •"Kasen Kidd was jun-
ior •bridesmaid. They wore identical
dresses of taffeta inpink orchid,
green and blue made with draped hip-
line forming a large bow at back. All
four wore little taffeta hats and
matching elbow mittens, and carried
,clusters of roses. Mr. Edward Pud-
ney, of London, was groomsman, and
the ushers were Mr. Harold "Pudney
and Dr. Harold Pickard, both of Lon-
don. The recd tion was held at "Hill -
,side," the home of the bridle's paf•-
ents. The bride's mother received
delphinium blue with bronze moss
accessories and corsage of Talisman -
roses, and. assisting was the groom's
mother in blue gray, with matching
7eecessories, and corsage of pink ros-

were Mrs. (Dr.) Paul Brady and Mrs.
(Rev.) R. H. Williams, and serving
were Misses Marguerite Westcott,
Marian Mason, Lenore Habkirk, Dav-
ina, Anderson. Pearl Pudney and Mrs.
Ronald Savauge. Later the bride don-
ned a hunter's green gabardine suit.
