B. McLean, was solemnized at Col-
borne St. United Church Wednesday,

ter a wedding, trip to Quebec City
and the Saguenay, the couple will re-
side in London.
Presbyterian Ladies' Aid Meets.
The first meeting for the fall season
of the Ladies' Aid' of First Presby-
terian Church was held Tuesday af-
ternoon with a good attendance. The
president, Mrs. H. R. Scott, presided
and the opening hymn was "Go, Labor
on,' Spend and Be Spent," followed
With prayer by Mrs. Scott. The min-
utes and treasurer's report were giv-
en and the business discussed when
it was decided to hl,old a bazaar on
Saturday, Nev. 1. Mrs. W. A. Wright
sang a solo entitled, "The Church By
the Side of the Road." Mrs. J. B.
Russell gave an interesting story on
"Remember. Ruth," telling of the love
and kindness to anpther women 'who
was in gre.at sadness. The meeting
closed with the hymn, "I Am Trust-
ing ,in Thee" and the Lord's Prayer
in unison. Delicious refreshments
were served at the close of the meet-
ing.

mony.• The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father and wore a floor -

Death . of R. W. Hodgins.=On .Fri-
day. August 29; in his apartment;
Toronto. Reginald Walter Hodgins
died' suddenly of coronary thrombosis.
He was the youngest son of the late
Rev. J. Waiter Hodgins, former Rec-
tor of St. Thomas' Anglican. Church,
Seaforth, arid was born here and at-
tended Seaforth Collegiate Instirute
and afterward Trinity College, Port
;Hope. He left to enter the Bank of
Montreal and enlisted in World War,
1.
After his discharge he. went to
California where he was for many
years an accountant in Santiago. Dur-
ing the past fifteen years he had been
an accountant with the .Ontario 'Mut-
.ual Association of Toronto. Unmar-
ried he is survived by two sisters.
Miss Mabel Hodgins, Toronto, and
Mrs. Cameron McNiel, of Cleveland.
Ohio, and one brother, Prof. Lthyd
.Hodgins, of the University of Toron-
to. Rev.. Canon 11. F. D. Woodcock
conducted the funeral service on Fri-
day, while Rev. Canon Lightbourne
read the committal service at Avon-
dale Cemetery, Stratford, where -in-
terment was made Monday afternoon.

-Death- of Mrs. John .McMann.—The
death of Mrs. Annie McMann, belov-
ed wife of John MeMann, 4452 Wilcox
St, Chicago, occurred at her home a' t:
5 a.m, Friday, August 29. in tier 74th
year. The news • shocked her many
relatives and friends of this district
as they were unaware of the serious-
ness of her short illness. Mrs. Mc-
Mann was before hemarriage Annie

Eckert, daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. John"Eckert, of McKillop. Born
in 1873 she married John McMann in
1896 and resided on their farm just
east of Seaforth until 1926, when they
and their' five children moved to Chi
'cage. Last year the happy couple.
celebrated their golden , wedding,
which many friends and relatives
from this district attended. Mr. and
Mrs. McMann have five children,
eight grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren, who besides her hus-
band are left to mourn her passing.
The children are: Mrs. Leslie (Kath-
leen) Scott, of Chicago; Mrs. Richard
(Helen) Tate, of Dearborn, Mich.;
Joseph, Mr's. Robert (Erhile) Hoyt
and Mrs. Albert (Florence) Spizzirri,
all of Chicago. Mrs., McMann had
three --sisters and five brothers: Mr.
Conrad, Eckert, Of Seaforth, deceas-
ed; Mrs. Elisebeth Brux,er, of Dublin,
deceased'; Mrs. Barbara Holland, of
'Dublin; Mr. Fred Eckert, of McKil-
lop: Rev. Father Stephen, O.M.A.P„
of Milwaukee, deceased; Mrs. Louise
Murray, of McKillop; 'Rev. Father
Michaels O.P.P.G., of Chicago, deceas-

30, to Tuesday, Sept. 2,"the body rest-
ed at the Qonboy Funeral Home,
where the family, relatives and
friends from many, parts gathered to
mourn a loving life, mother and true
friend. There were numerous spiri-
tual and many beautiful focal bou-
quets which attested to the esteem
shown by all those who knew het.

Hoyt, Bill Scott ,Charles Hall, Jr.,

a very lovely late summer 'bridal
when their Only daughter, Clara Mar-
garet, was united in marriage to Wil-
liittn Wilson Brugger, son of Mrs.
Thelnia Brugger and the late Francis
Brugger, of Seaforth, The double ring
ceremony, which- teak place at 12.30
p m. Monday, September 1, was, per-
forined by Rev. Andrew Lane, min-
ister of Wesley -Willis United Church,
Clihton. The bride, p,iven in mar-
riage by her father, was lovely in a
(icor-length gown of white chenille
tufieta with a 'sweetheart neckline
end a short train. Her embroidered
net finger-tip veil was held by a
coronet headdress, Her bouquet,
which was in the form of a crescent,.
was of red Briarcliffe roses and
Stephanotis. Her only ornament was
a ruby -set pendant worn by her
mother at her own wedding, The
bride's only attendant was Miss
Patricia Ann Brugger, Seaforth, sis-
ter of the groom. She was gownel
blue taffeta with a tulle headdress.
Her bouquet was composed of -pink
Rapture roses and baby mums. The
best man was Charles Austin Nedi-

Love." During the signing of the

for the ceremony and the short re-
ception which followed. The guests
were received by the bride's mother

gardenias. The mother of the groom

reception a luncheon was served at
Hotel 'Clinton, where nineteen guests,

return in a few days to their cottage
at "Lane of Pines," near Bayfield.
