Her bridesmaid, Miss Winnifred Mc-
Fayden, of Toronto, wore rose nylon
with matching hat, and carried a bou-
quet of white carnations, Mr.. Robert
Dalrymple, cousin of tile groom, wee
best man, After , a reception at the
home of the bride's ,parents' for im-
mediate friends, the young couple left
on a mptor trip to Northern Ontario,
the bride wearing a grey crepe -dress
with contrasting_ accessories, Upon
their return theywill reside at Bruce -

Christian Stewardship was given .by

had charge of the devotional period
with Mrs. J. Finlayson as leader, the
theme being "The _World Council of
Churches." The hymn, "Jesus Shall
Reign" was sung and the Scripture
reading, Epbesians 2:11-22 was read
by Mrs. Hay, followed with a reading
by.:Mrs. Finlayson and prayer by Mil.
Hay, The , program, "One Great
Church,- was• conducted by 'Mrs. M.
McPhee and Mrs. A. McCuaig. The
meeting closed by singing the hymn,
"In Christ There is No East or West,"
and prayer .by Mrs. Finlayson,

Seaforth. The Citadel was
decked with palms and spring flowers,
blended -With the soft,. tones of the
attendants' gowns. The bride, given
in marriage, by her father; wore a
Long flowing gown of white slipper
satin with a White net Queen Victoria
headdress, sweeping into a long train.
She carried red roses and white
sweet peas. Her only ornaments were
a gold locket and gold watch,` gifts of
the -groom. Miss Florence Green was
maid of honor; Miss Dorene Sherlock
and Miss Rose Van' BoBvan were
bridesmaids, and all were dressed in
powder blue brocaded, nylon.' Their
headdresses were fashioned in blue
braidel velvet and each wore elbow -
length glot•es ,of powder blue Pylon.
They carried Colonial nosegays of
pink "roses. The flower girl was Miss
Pat Evans, who wore a yellow taffeta
goer( and a headdress of yellow braid-
ed silk. and she 'carried a nosegay of
yellow roses. The groom was attend-
ed by his brother., 'Melvin Ritchie.
Leslie Ritchie and Fletcher Ritchie,
brothers of the . groom, and Ernest
McBride, the bride's brother, , and
Ralph Alleby, cousin of the bride,
were ushers. During the ceremony
and the signing of the register Capt.
Edna Cook sang the Lord's Prayer
and also the, Wedding Prayer;assist-
ed on the piano by Capt. Olive Legg.
Capt. Olive Sitford played the We March. The reception . was held
in the Tower Hall of the Citadel, at
which guests were received by the
bride's mother in blue shadow lace
dress with corsage of pink roses and
w•l: ite acre$sbries.• She was assisted
by; the groom's- mother in pea green
'silk dress with a corsage of yellow
roses and accessories of black. Some of
the guests included those 'from dis-
tant points as far as Belfast, Ireland;
Long Island, N.Y„ Detroit, Mich.,
Windsor, Woodstock, London, Strath-
roy, Seaforth, Hespeler and St. Marys.
The bride and groom left on their
'honeymoon to Detroit, the bride trav-
elling in a light blue dress with
mdtching hat with a corsage of pink
carnations and white accessories. On
`their return the couple will reside ih
Toronto.

A large group of friends' and rela-
tives attended the funeral of 'MissJennie O'Connell at St. Patrick's
Church, Dublin, on Friday. Rev, Dr.
Ffoulkes sang the Requiem High Mass
and,Rev. John F. McConnell, M.M., of
Maryknoll, N.Y., was in the sanctu-
ary. Miss Mary Beale presided at the
organ and the sbloist was Mrs. Leo.
Fortune; Seaforth, who sang, "What
Could My Jesus Do More?" Numerous
spiritual and floral offerings were in
evidence. The pallbearers were Jos.
Dorsey, Harry Fortune, Jas. Kraus-
kopf, John V. Flynn, Tom Dorsey and
Frank Cronin. Interment took place
in St. James' cemetery, Seaforth,
The Late James Roach
A former resident of Hibbert Town-
ship, James Roach, died at his home
in Seaforth on Monday morning, fol-
lowing a brief illness. He was the son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Roach, of Hibbert Tewnship, and was
in his 79th year, He had been a life-
long resident of Hibbert until about
five years ago when he moved to Sea -
forth. He is survived by two brothers,
Patrick and Peter Roach, Seaforth,
and three sisters: -_Mrs. Patrick Feen-
ey', Hibiyel•t;' Miss Anne" Roach' and
Mrs. Katharine McQuaid, Detroit:
The funeral was held at St. James'
Church, .Seaforth, on Wednesday
morning, with interment in St. James'
cemetery,
Frank Rowland had the misfortune
to have his jaw fractured at a base -

Death of Andrew Henderson
The. sudden. death took place of a
well known and highly esteemed resi-
dent of McKillop on Thursday; July
17, in the person of Andrew. Hen-
derson, in his 78th year. Mr, Hen-
derson had been afflicted with a heart
condition for nearly five years, but
his death was a great shock to the
family and frienrls. He was born on
the farm on which he Iived all his
life, and in.1906 was married to Ma-
tilda .Shannon, who predeceased,him•
twenty years ago. Deceased was the
last member of a ,family of ten', and
he will be greatly Missed in the ram-
munity. TIe was. a ,member of Duff's
United Church and' was faithful in at-
tendance. The funeral W ill'tdke place
Saturday^ afternoon.
