J. Nott, Egmondville, has received
word of the death of 'Mrs. James
Barkley, in Echo Bay, which occurred
-en Saturday, May 3. She is survived
by hei. husband. Deceased ',vas the
former Margaret Walker, of Clinton.

Alert Mission Seed Meets. ,- The
Alert Mission Band of Northside Unit-
ed Church held its June meeting on
Tuesday with 21 present. The open-
ing hymn was -. "Here the .Pennies
Dropping," followed by. the Lord's
Prayer repeated in unison. The ecrip-
'titre, which was found in Luke 11, was
read by Jean Snell. An interesting
story on China was read by Marilyn
Butt, followed by a- solo by Betty Lou
•Godie. "God Sees the Little Spar-
row Fall" was, sung and the business
period conducted by Mrs.' Bradshaw.
The study book, "John and Jeeva,"
• was read -by 'Pers. B. F. Christie. "Lit-
tle Drops of" Water" was followed,
with the Mission Band eeneeiction.
Marion Chamberlain was pianist.

Miller - Hugill.-Rev. He V. Work-
man officiated at the 'wedding cere-
mony cm Saturday, June 14, of Made -
Ion Joyce 'Hugill, daughter of Me. and
Mrs. Joseph T. Hugill, Beafortle• to
George H.. Miller, Seaforth, son 'of the
late Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Miller, of
Alma. The ceremony was performed
at high noon on the lawn of the
bride's home under an arch of ever-
green and mauve' and white epees.
Given in marriage by her father, the
bride chose a floor -length gown of
white slipper satin, fashioned on
Princess lines; sweetheart neckline
and long sleeves'endingin illy points
over her halide Her elbow-lengveil
was held in place by a halo deed
pearls, and she carried an arm bou-
quet of• red roses. Miss Gwendolyn
Hugill, Seaforth, 'sister of the bride,
as bridesmaid, wore a floor -length
gown with pink satin bodice with'
long full skirt of pink marquisette
over atin. Her matching shoulder -
length veil was held in place with
flowers, and she carried sweet peas.
Little Miss Karen Huglle the bride's
sister, as flower girl, was dressed in
pale blue -figured Swiss organdy with
pale blue veil, held in place with a
halo of orange blessoeas, and she car -
lied a nosegay of pink rosebuds. The
groom was as.sisted.by Ronald Pull-
man, 'Sarnid„and James T. Scott,
Seaforth, as soloist, sang "0 Perfect
Love". and "0 Promise Me," accom-
panied by Miss Lenore Habeirk, Sea -

sageof roses. On their return they
will reside in,Seaforth. 'The groom's
gift to the bride was ill:latching neck-
lace and par rings; to the bridesmaid,
white gold ear rings; to the flower
girl, white gold locket. and bracelet;
to the best man, a tie pin set; to
the soloist, leather 'billfold, and 'the
organist, a corneae. During the af-
ternoon -the bride and bridegroom re-
,ceived congratulations from Rev. and
Mrs. „Hugh Jack, of Sydney, N:S:, con-
veyed by Mrs. J. M. Goveeloele, Sea -
forth. Toasts were proposed during
the luncheon by Rev. H. V. Workmae,
J. J. Hugill, grandfather, and T. W.

of Mr. and -Mrs. Malcolm Cameron
McKellar, and Hugh Jones; son 'of
Rev. and Mrs. H. R. Williehas, Alvin -
sten. The groom's- father performed
the marriage oeremany, with Mrs. M.
R. ,Rennie aa ,organist. Miss Kathleen
Holmes, 'Toronto, was soloist and
sang the Lord's Prayer and "Because."
Given in marriage by her father, the
bride wore an ivory satin gown With
high rounded neckline embroidered in
flowers of seed pearls, Her three-
quarter length veil of embroidered il-
lusion net *as caught by a headdress
of white flowers. The bride carried
a cascade of red roseS and bouvardie.
Miss Lorine Weber and Miss Elisa-
beth Williams, the, bridesmaids, ,wore
gowns of coral and powder 'blue silk
jersey with matching hats, and car-
ried cascades' of white toses. Miss
Sandra lefeKellar, niece of the bride,
was flower girl, wearing yellow taf-
feta with a band of flowers in her
hair•anecareeing a Colonial nosegay.
Mr. Edward J. Williams, 'brother' of
the groom, *as best man, and Mr.
Paul Yates and Mr. Gordon geKellar
were ushers. Following the ceremony
a reception for 80 guests was held at
the Manse, home of the bride's sis-
ter, Mrs. R. H. Williams. Tele b'ride's'
mother received her guests .in a gown
of heaven blue crepe With a corsage
of pink roses. ' She was assisted by
Mrs. H. R. Williams, Alvinston; who
wore navy with white , and a corsage
of Talisman roses. The wedding table
was centred with' the four -tiered
bride's cake, flaneed py white tapers.
