presiding. The meeting opened by
singing °Take My Life and,Let It Be,"
followed with prayer by Mr. Gerry.
Comartin- The Scripture lesson was
read by Miss Luella Taylor, The roll
was theft called and • the minutes of
the March meeting were read by the'
secretary, Miss Ruth Cluff. A most
inspiring address was graciously giv-
en by Mrs. J. Scott and was much
appreciated. Mrs, Scott during •her
talk stressed the three following.
,words found frequently in the Bible:
"Come," "Wait" and "Go." Speaking
on the subject of "Prayer," Mrs,. Scott
commented that pryer is the' .moat
forceful, power that one can operate.

conducted a game and' lunch was

come Home" reception was held for
over sixty returned boys of the par-
ish. and they each were presented
with a remembrance, The sick and
shut-in members were•.remembered, by
visits and at Christmas boxes of frUit
W ere,sent. , All newcomers to the par-
ish were visited and cards were sent
to the sick as well as all new mothers.
All deceased members were remem-
bered with 'Mass cards, Three boxes,,'
valued at $100.00, were sent to the
Sisters of Service.. Two crates of
eggs were sent to the Sisters of St.
Joseph, London. Twelve cartons of
canned goods were 'collected "and don-
ated
onated to the Pope's welfare collection'
for. caned ..goods to help" feed. the...
starving European nations. A cash
donation was also sept •to .the Euro-
pean Relief. .A donation of $10,00 was
sent to Bishop Jordan, of the West
ern.Missions, and a donation was sent
4o the Byron Chapel. Fund, London.
Layettes were made during the year:
The sub -division is a supporter of
"The School„ of Christ" radio program
at London, as well- as the Sacred
H eart Radio program at Windsor. A
delegate was sent to th-e annual •diose
san convention held ,in Chatham in
October. The • League sponsored an
essay contest locally ' for the school
children, and the pastor was given an
offering at Christmas and Easter.
At each meeting feast papers were
read and at Christmas the League is-
sued a parish paper called "The St.
James' Chronicle," a paper which or-
iginated durine the. war for the in-
terest
interest of the parish boys "overseas.
Each meeting was publicized in the
local weekly and daily newspapers.
The program committee gave an in-
teresting report. •Severity-sevevn mem-
bers were reported as having paid
fees. The magazine convener report-
ed eleven readers. The treasury show-
ed receipts of $667.48 and disburse-
ments of $418.34, leaving a balance of
$249,49 with all national and diocesan
obligatiol a having been,'met.
