Bolt - Swan. -The marriage of Miss
Jean Sw'tn,. daughter of Mr. and 'Mrs.

Thomas, took... plaice quietly in Christ
Church, 'London, Ont.,. on, Saturday,
April 6. The ceremony was performed
by Rev. Dr- Hurford. The bride was
attended by Miss Madeline Knight, of
London; and wore a beige check .suit
with" `ba•'own hat and accessories with
corsage of yellow roses. Mr. Robert
Berry,`of St. Thomas, Was best man.
For her wedding, the. bride chose a
street -length dress of, figured blue
silk jersey with small black hat and
accessories 'and corsage of pink ros-
es. The groom's. -gift to the bride was
a' string of pearls. ;A small reception
was held in the bride's 'home, after
which the couple left on •a wedding

Places of interest visited by Mr. and
Mrs. Thompson were Independence,,
the home of • the late . President Roose-
vett, also the home of the late Presi-
dent Lincoln in Springfield,. Ill, 'Dui'-
ing their visit at Salina they had the
privilege of attending several church
services, also meetings- of young mar-
ried couple groups and enjoyed them
very much. The closing hymn,,"Stand
Up! Stand Up! .for Jesus" was sung
and the meeting closed 'by repeating
the Mizpah benediction: An `Easter
bonnet contest,was then conducted by
Mrs, S. M. Scott. The most original'
hat was won by Miss Olive Blake, the
prize being 'an Easter basket. Lunch
was served by the social .committee
and a social hour followed.

day evening Group 4 of the W.A. of
Northside Church held their Easter
meeting at the home of Mrs. 1.• O,
Turnbull. Mrs. E, B. G.oudie had
charge of the meeting which opened
by singing "When I Survey the Won-
drous Criss r' followed by the Lord's
Prayer in Unison. The minutes of the
last meeting were read, followed by
the roll call answered by one ve:•se of
the Beatitudes: • Several items of

Pollard led in prayer and Easter read-

St.' Thomas' Ladies" Guild Meets. -
On Tuesday of this week the Ladies'
'Guild' of St. Thomas' Church held
their regular Meeting in the Parish
Hall. In the: ab'seivice of the president,
the meeting was opened by Mrs. H.
Colbert, the vice-president, who led
in prayers for the 'parish and the
Lord's Prayer in unison. Fourteen
members answered the roll call and
Mrs. Scarlett read the Scripture les-
son from St. Luke 4:24=36.. A.11' re-
ports were received and several it-
ems discussed to be dealt with at the
next meeting, which will be a social
one at the Rectory on May 13. After
the offertory_ was dedicated, Mrs, C.
F. L. Gilbert closed the •meeting with
prayer. Mrs. Scarlett conducted. ,a
contest and Mrs. Higgins contributed
two.very pleasing solos. Refreshments
were served' and a social hour; enjoy-
ed by the members. '
Death of John C. Greig, -Mr, John
C. Greig, prominent figure in. the busi-
ness, social 'and sports life of Sea -
forth for over half a century, died .on
Tuesday, April, 8, following. an illness
extending over. some' months. ' Mr..
Greig was born in 'Pickering, and af-
ter graduating from high school came
to. Seaforth in .,1892 to enter the cloth-
ing business, which he conducted for
many years. in recent years, how-
ever, he had represented; a Large
wholesale clothing house in Montreal,
'but continued to Make his home in
Seaforth, During his 'long, residence
in this 'town Mr, Greig always main -
tamed a keen interest in 'business
and municipal affairs serving as cons-
cillor, reeve and mayor, a position 'he
filled in 1912-191.3.' Be also took an
active interest in sports and in iris
younger days was a noted cricketer,
'bowler and curler. He was' a charter
member and official of the Seaforth
Golf and Country, Club, and maintain-
ed his enthusiasm and interest as an
active golfer iin.til a year ago, in
1913 Mr, Greig was appointed Police
Magistrate 'and Division Court Clerk
in Seaforth, . 'Which position he •occu-
pied for 30 years- Mr. Greig was, a
member of First Pres'byferian Church
and served on the -.Managing Board
for 'a considerable period. He was a
life member of Britannia Masonic
Lodge, the 50 -year Jewel of the Order
having been 'presented' to him in
1543, On 'September 4, 1855, Mr.
Greig was united in marriage to Miss
Minnie V.. Acheson, of Goderich, who
survives him, thgether with one
daughter,. Mrs. Urban D. Clark, or
Sarnia; three grandsons, laic and
David Clark, and: John 'Edgar Greig,
and tWd granddaughters; E'trelyh. Ann
Clark .and Gillian Greig. A son, Dry
