ly meeting of the Catholic Women's
League of St. .Tames' Church, was
held at the home of the president,
Mrs. W. Hart. The treasurer, Mrs.
J. 'lam. Slattery, reported a balance of
$116.27. The League is sponsdring a
challenge euchre in the school hall
on Friday evening, and also plans on
the annual St. Patrick's supper which

quoise and cerise printed crepe with
corsage of white roses. After the
reception the couple left by plane for
New York on a wedding trip. They
will live in Parry Sound. For trav-
elling the bride wore a powder blue
wool coat with hat of same material,
over a tailored powder blue and
Dubonnet hound's tooth tweed suit,
orchid corsage and mink furs, the
.gift of the groom.
Aleft Mission Band Meets. — The
Alert" Mission Band of Northside Unit-
ed Church held • a ,meeting Tuesday
after school with twenty-two members
present. The first hymn was "What
a Friend We Have in Jesus,' 'follow-
ed with a prayer by Mrs. Bradshaw.
The Scripture was found in John,
chapter 1, verses 1-14, read by Gwen
Christie, Patricia Hawkins - read a
story. on • China. Next month . Marion.
Chamberlain and Teddy Savauge are
to find stories about India and Africa.
The business .part of the meeting was
conducted by Mss: Bradshaw.. The
collection was taken; • by Teddy Sav-
auge, which' amounted to $1.50.. The
next hymn was. "Jesus Loves Me,"
followed by the story, "Nyanges Two
Villages," which was read by Mrs.
Barber. "God Save the King" was
then sung.

Death of David H. Campbell --David
H. Campbell, 77, ° former resident of
Grey Township, who died at his home
in Listowel where he had lived for
several months, was buried in' Wood-
iawn Cemetery on Friday following
a private service at the residence of
his son, William, and public services
in St. Andrew's Presbyterian, Church,
Molesworth. where he had served as
Elder for a number of years. The
late Mr. Campbell was the father of
Kenneth M. Campbell, of. Seaforth. An
invalid for many years, ,he was con-
fined to his bed since last October.
The late Mr, Campbell was the young-
est and the sole 'surviving Member of
the family of the late William and
Marion McLean' Campbell, pioneer
residents of Grey -Township. For many
years he farmed in the Molesworth
district. Prior to. going to Listowel
last year, , lie resided in Seaforth for
a short time. Surviving is ,his wife,
the former Maude Coghlin, three sons
.and seven daughters, namely: Ken-
neth, of Seaforth;'Donald, of Gerrie;
William, on -the home ,farm, boundary
west; , Mrs. G. McConnel, Holstein;
Mrs: C. Cook, •Gowailstown; Miss Hel-
en Campbell, Vancouver; Miss Eliza-
beth Campbell, Mount Forest; Misses
Marion and Islay Campbell, Toronto,
and Miss Jean 'Campbell, at home.

Death of Mrs. E: Scarlett. — Mrs.
Emily Scarlett, the former Emily" Lit-
tle, of Mclaillop, and a resident of
London for the past 68,, years, died
Thursday night at the family . resi-
den'ce, 474 Dufferin Ave., Londob. She
was in her 90th year, At the time of
her death, Mrs. Scarlett was the old-
est living member of Cronyn Memor-
ial Anglican' Church. She had been
an active and willing worker in all
women's organizations at Cronyn
Memorial, especially the Women's
Auxiliary, Mrs. Scarlett was one of
the original, three members who start-
ed. the' Victoria Hospital Women's -
Auxiliary, and was active In• boys'
work at the Y.M.C.A, Her husband,
the late William Scarlett, and a bro-•
ther of Robert Scarlett, of Seaforth,
predeceased her in 1928. Surviving
are four daughters:.. Mrs.' Anna M.
E'dsill, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; Mrs.
Beatrice Jenkins, of Detroit; Mrs.
Victoria Clark, of Port Stanley, and
Miss Mable Scarlett, at home. Five
grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Scar-
lett, was predeceased by one daugh-
ter, Mrs." .Tames Sutherland, in 1938.
Remains rested at the family resi-
dence until Monday morning. A • gun-.
era] service' was conducted in. the

el on Monday afternoon, when Rev.
Ralph Latimer, Rector of Cronyn.
Memorial, officated. . Interment was
in Woodland Cemetery, London: _

The Adult Bible Class and Junior
Bible Class held a pot -luck supper in
the church basement Saturday even-
ing. After a bounteous supper a pro-
gram was enjoyed, with musical selec-
