Death 'of Mrs„ John McLeod'.—The
death occurred in Scott Memorial Hos-
pital on .T• iesday, 4anuary 21, of Sar-
ah L. McMann, widow of the late John
'McLeod.- Deceased was born in--
Blaushard Township on February 27,
18.64, and resided. in Ethel before corn-.
.Ing to Seaforth about thirty years ago.
Mrs. McLeod had been ill at the home
of •Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Cuthill in
a half.

'She •was a member of First Presby-.
terian Church; Seaforth. Her only sea
was killed in the First Great War, but
she is survived by one !laughter, Mrs.
John H. Storey, McKiIlop, a brother,
Marry McMann, Victoria, B.C., and
two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Williamson,
Victoria; B.C., and Mrs. Wm. Woods,,.
Seaforth. There are also. eleven
grahndchildren and nine great grand-
children. The funeral will be held
on Friday afternoon from the G, A.
Whitney Funeral „Chapel, when a pri-
vate service will be held, Interment
will be made in Brussels cemetery.'

Alert Mission Band of Northside Unit-
ed. Church met on Tuesday, Jan. 14,
A'fte'r school with twenty-four members
present. At this meeting,. thefollow-
ing officers were elected: President,
Blanche Westcott ; vice. president,
Teddy Savauge'; secretary, Gwen
Christie; treasurer; Marilyn Butt;
assistant treasurer, Billie Scott; pian-
ists for the year' are Jean Snell, Gwen
'Christie. Marion Chamberlain, Marie
Hunt, Lorene Henderson and Blanche
Westcott. The opening• ••' hymn yeas
243, followed, by'tlie Lord's Prayer in
unison.. The •Scripture reading was'
found in John 2, verses 1-11, which.
was read by Mrs. • Bradshaw. The

ronto Club. Beside's his widow he is

son, Charles, died some years ago in
a' British Columbia aircraft accident.
